View Full Version : Brides? Recaros? Buddy Clubs?

Ok guys, I'm looking to pick up a race seat, maybe two if the price is right. So far, the Bride bucket I'm looking at cost as much as two recaros, and 1 nice recaro costs about as much as two buddy clubs. I really want to get the Bride, because, well, it's awesome and it's a carbon fiber backed :) with gradation fabric, and it's several 100 dollars off, the recaros are essentially evo recaros but they are grey and black, typical, nice recaros, and the buddy clubs are nice but the backs aren't adjustable, but they are the cheapest. I'm all for having matching front seats, but to be brutally honest, I see no point in spending 800 dollars on a second bride bucket for the passenger since I rarely take people for ride alongs when I go to the track. Thoughts, suggestions? Advice, I know that few people have legit bucket seats on here, outside of Stewi, Cali, and Billet, if you guys could chime in. I also looked into sparcos, but I didn't really like any of the seats they offer.

Bride is sexy as hell and expensive too lol, but for me personally I like the front seats to match so I would have to get two.

I would bid on the recaro's and see what you can get them for...

ask VEGASMATT and CENSEE too... VEGAS has SPARCO's iirc and CENSEE has BRIDE's. i think VEGASMATT knows where to get the sliders made to fit the 8G.

Are you looking for reclinable bucket seats or fixed buckets?

I dunno how big you are (no homo) but bucket seats come in different sizes. You wouldnt want to buy a seat that looks good online, only to find that they are too wide or too snug for you.

im 6'1 230 lbs. I HATE racing seats. Unless its in a race car thats hardly driven. My gf has a 2g and i hate the way it holds me in the seat. Its awesome for when you take a corner but fuck its uncomfortable. Maybe its just me though. I think recaros are nice as hell. Good luck!

Go for the Evo 9 recaros. They look way better. Check Evom. Check with deeznutz he has them on the 8g

If your set of the CF backed seat and a recliner, I think Bride is really the only way to go. Censee's seats im pretty sure are bride brix 2's. Bride seats are super expensive because they are the "JDM" seat so to speak, most of the magazine cars you see have Bride seats, which builds their rep and drives the price up. In terms of quality, any of the big name companies make good quality seats, its just a matter of your aesthetic preferences at that point.

If thats the case, check out some sparco seats. They are comfortable, affordable and you can use the 3g mounting brackets and sliders and install with very slight modification (no welding, just opening the bolt holes a little bit bigger) I paid about $1100 for my sparco' with the brackets and sliders for the 3g, the brackets and sliders alone are about $280.

Check out sparco's website, the R505 and the R100 are good seats, the 505 is substantially more expensive, but its a better seat and its much lighter. The R100 is steel so its a little on the heavy side. You can also find back stock on the older sparco torino and torino 2 seats, they arent on the website but some vendors have back stock that you can probably get a good deal on too.

So I've decided on the Bride Gias Low Max seats, the question now becomes, should I do just black with red stitching, or should I get the gradation fabric ones?

I agree, those were my first personal choice, just not in a Galant, no offense. In 350Z, G35 or something like that, yes.

I guess that's true, Gradiation probably would work with the 8g interior and its assortment of greys lol

I know the red stitched would look sweet in my Integra :D

When it looks like this one (better wheels though), yes it would.

I think ill either get the gradation and then start tracking down a grey interior or just get the black ones and reupholster the rest if the interior in black

If your going gradation, just go in 100% and buy the fabric from bride to re-upholster the door panels and center of the back seat to match. It will be worth it in the end, it will really tie it all together. Im still pissed that sparco jerked me on the material my seats are made from, I would have loved to do my rear seats in the same exact material to tie it all in.

I get what you are saying stewi, but my car has a beige interior now so I'd need a grey dash and center console and what not, if I do the gradation I'll definitely get the Bride material for the doors and back seat, I was more talking about the color of the plastics and what not.

Recaro=evo X stock seat?

greddy
02-07-2011, 02:29 PM
recaro made the stock seats for a lot of the evo models, earliest one I can think of is the evo 5 or evo 6,

There is a used pair on evolutionm, the guy wants 850 plus shipping for each, they're in 7/10 condition.

if your talking about Evokid those are Vios III arent they? Those are fixed back seats and half the price of the Stradia.

Just a thought, the EVO X seats are hot (i think) and kinda look like the Bride Vorga and Cuga and the Recaro Sportster CS seat which there probaly modeled after anyway.

Dont the X's have side airbags in them? I mean, you dont have to/cant wire them up anyway, but its added weight for a race car

greddy
02-07-2011, 10:42 PM
I don't want heavy seats the point is to lose weight

xd_01
02-08-2011, 02:54 AM
i didnt know the X's had airbags, that does defeat the whole purpose. if you want light then fixed back is the way to go but may be uncomfortable for daily commutes.

Its easy to change the dash and console color though. Look at my interior, that stuff is all painted with SEM color coat, if you do a good prep on it and just use care not to hit stuff into it, it will hold up really well.

i seen on here that someone used that black shoe polish with a foam applicator on their dash to change the color.i dont remember what it was under on here though.

I see good point I might do that and I realize the one piece are the lightest but the car is still a daily driver so I want some comfort
