No front shocks? Are you gonna lower it?

its already lowerd on stock struts, look at the time stamp on the pics that are 3/27/2011
when i installed the eibach springs i noticed i needed more parts and i already had the struts apart
car has some bounce to it more in the rear, had no choice to install the springs with no rear spring seats witch is giving me camber.
front struts should be here friday

ok so after the car overheated on me Friday after work I notice Coolent missing well I figured that out, then I flushed the Coolent system yesterday and notice Coolent on the pass floor, ok heater core. well after seeing it come from there. at work today it desides to not leak any more, must of been when I was flushing the system out, so ill be keeping an eye on it for the next few days. since the floor was soaking wet and it was not drying I did this

I also been having issues with my windshield leaking so I pulled everything,
I plan on removing the old matting on the floor bored and dynaline the bitch from cab to trunk.
I'm pricing out new carpet if the old one don't come clean and replace the heater core for shits and giggles

I'll take pics of it all installed tomarrow, once I clean up the center console, it might get replaced with a grey one to tie it all together, maybe u guys can be the judge of that, also ill be replacing the window switch covers to grey once I get them from a member

So while looking at vac line to figure out if my egr was work cuz I have a p0400 code I notice my I.m. mani is cracked right behind the TB, so after doing some research I got what I needed to kno and started looking for one, find one for 90$ shiped? Ask the guy to make sure it was a non mivec and he had no clue what I was talking about so I put it in simple terms "does it have a throttle cable, if it does its what I need" calls me back up and its what i need, it will be here next week, can't wait, I'm hoping this will solve my rough idle under load and that code

Here is what I did as far as a bracket its really easy to make, Ill make the how to I have planning on doing within a week or two for it.

here are the pics of it installed, I'm still fabbing up a plate for the TB cable so for now this will do, my plans now are to re loom the harness near the injectors atleast clean it up with new loom, get another valve cover and paint it silver like the I.M., just order two hid relay harness so I can put them in the fuse box under the hood, witch will help clean the engine bay, I can't use my eBay strut bar because it will hit the map sensor on top of the mani, so I'm looking into a 3g strut bar or something else,
buddy of mine has more pics from the install.

How does it idle?

finald8ta
12-13-2011, 06:31 PM
I'm idleing fine, at first I had a huge leak at the TB, my buddy put the gasket on wrong, fixed that and I'm good, I bumped up the biss screw abit, I'm at 850/900 in park and in drive I'm at 650/750. I'm about to play with the biss screw to bring it down and see what happens, but other then that I don't have an odd idle any more, car vidrate abit under load at a stop because the back motor mount is fucked up, going to swap it out with the new one pic above, or my balance shaft is off

finald8ta
01-01-2012, 11:18 AM
Yes, its more protected from the elements, all I did was de pin it from its socket one at a time and placed it in the main fuse box,

There's two spots for relays Togo, fogs and headlights

If you like ill post a how to on home I did it but its self explanatory

Only thing that concerns me is where it should be engaging and disengaging,

Mine engages within 1.5in from the top when I release the pedal, and about .75in when I disengage the pedal when I push it in,

Just putting this out there for a reference for future 5-speed swappers. The adjustment for the clutch pedal is by feel when it comes to the Galant. You cant really go off the spec in the manual since it for the Eclipse. This is from my experience seem like the pedal has better travel in the 3g than the Galant. I adjusted my pedal up until the clutch disengaged and I didnt adjust any further. 15psi of boost and no slip whatsoever..

Evo ecu is the way to go for turbo G's, pay over $50 for the evo MAF, to use the evo oil pan you also need the evo oil pickup, (I didn't see it listed so), although they are a bit more money I would get dark blue subaru 565cc injectors, they are plug and play so no resistor box. I wouldn't put a tight budget since its always the small stuff that makes you go over it.

some of the items i have listed are optional, thats if im able to find them cheap.
this is going to be a slow build because i have more plans thats im keeping hush hush.

correct me if im wrong but i thought other members didn't use the evo oil pick up and used the stocker.

greddy did you use the evo oil pick up

You definitely have to use the evo pickup with the pan. On my first car I didnt know this since it is one of things that gets swept under the rug. I ended up picking one up.

I posted a pic above with both oil pans side by side, there you can see that the pick up enters in a different place on the evo one therefore you need the evo pick up to be able to install that pan

Yep pretty much. On ivory i even cut the old pickup and had it welded and it still wasn't right.

I know what they look like, I had to swap them out also. I was stating that, even that they bolt up to the same spot, if you manage to fit the the 4g63 oil pan with the 64 pick up tube, I wonder what the effects would be.

getting close just bought another evo8 turbo for real cheap, also down pipe and o2 housing came in, no sure if im going to use the oil sandwich adapt of pick up a evo oil filter houseing yet, also got stainless braided oil and water line as well, just need to figure out the rest of the length to where it will connect to, ill do that once i have it all mocked up, still need a wide band, boost gauge, oil pan, exhaust flanges, and intercooler

should i use the evo FPR or run an after market one? i picked up a fpr adapter and guage.
oil pan is questionable, not sure if i can find a evo one for cheap or just modify the stocker

Nice!!! A lot of people are going with the evo filter housing since it sits up higher. I had a greddy sandwich adapter plate and am rocking that. I use mitsu filters so maybe thats why it seems to sit higher up this time around. I used the stock evo fpr both times and its awesome. 1:1 rising rate is all you need until you need to start running specific fuel pressure to get every drop of flow out of your fuel system. The oil pan and pickup is just a searching game

Cant bee done. The g oil pick up tube is way long. Even if u cut the evo pan to fit the g pick up is inches alway from touching the bottom of the pan. Not good for oil flow, you will end up bottlenecking the oil flow.

A tune would make a little more power and make it smoother, but if your going turbo I wouldn't waste money for a n/a tune

it will be some time before i go boost, before i go boost i like todo some autox, and get a feel the car before i go boost,
i have my own reasons for this, i just dont want to go straight into autox with a turbo car,

I enjoyed that video, had a big smile on my face, it sounds so much like my old car! Man I miss that car, that 4-banger has a distinctive sound. All things considered that's not bad for a fully stock motor, but yeah I'd think you could gain a little more from bolt-ons, but I guess that all depends on the tune.

same here man, i was smiling from ear to ear, i told him to bring it to redline, if i didnt have an exhaust leak it have a more deeper tone,

Exhaust power
02-25-2013, 06:46 AM
Looking at your graph itll make a lot more power with a tune. Your peak tq and hp are way early! and are engines normally peak hp at 5500. I wonder is the outlander manifold longer then the galants?

Silvertune
02-25-2013, 06:42 PM
Are you running a cat? Where are your air fuel ratios?

Those two things could completely justify that graph. Cat's ruin these things and your AFR's could very well be in the single digits.

finald8ta
02-25-2013, 08:27 PM
i ask if they can do arfs, butt the tuning session they did the night before on a corvette broke the sniffer, im still running a cat, and i have a slight exhaust leak by the flex pipe i welded in place, i do have an axle back exahaust (ebay).

Silvertune
02-25-2013, 08:33 PM
Axle back nets you literally nothing. A decent header with a cat delete and an appropriate tune would make a massive difference.

finald8ta
02-25-2013, 08:48 PM
i dont want to run catless, i like to keep it quit as possible (sleeper), maybe a high flow cat and a full cat back later down the road, and as for a header, i heard theres really no gain from it, unless i was cali spec and im not,
im positive a tune will wake it up abit more and put me in the 130hp/150trq ish range for what i have, i do plan to go turbo sometime this yr, i just like to see my car evolve, im leaving my self alot of room for upgrades, instead of going straight for it,

Silvertune
02-25-2013, 08:56 PM
Well hate to break it to you but 115whp isn't much of a sleeper. If that car doesn't go fast there isn't much justification in something if that is your end goal.

Fed spec manifolds are no where near as restrictive as cali specs but they offer zero emphasis anywhere in your power band. People say a header does nothing on the 4 popper because the people who put them in have stock ones and get crappy headers. Your engine isn't going to put more out if it can't pull more in. Likewise it won't pull more in if it can't put more out. A good header promotes performance and that is very different from simply not hindering it. Even if you gained 10wtq a breath off idle to redline you will pick up untold amounts of time. That dyno graph is the epitome of choking and being rich. People with far less modified setups have produced number that would smash yours.

finald8ta
02-25-2013, 09:17 PM
silver i completely understand what your saying, i have no desire to get a header in the near future because i plan to go turbo, for what i have im happy with it, if i can produce 130hp with this setup on a tune, ive hit my goal, im not looking for big numbers with a NA build, even if i do get a header and full exhaust, ill end up having to sell it and thats something i dont want to deal with

Ivory8g
02-25-2013, 09:42 PM
This is the same thing I did on both of my galants. I didnt even do an intake let alone headers because I knew I was going to go turbo. Nothing wrong with that at all. If you ask me its intelligent execution. I'm sure this car is running super rich. Timing isnt that bad actually. I've looked at logs from the dyno run and it just needs some adjustments to wake it up. When I went 5 speed on my first galant I walked plenty of cars. You just have to choose your battles.
You dont have to have 500whp and 400wtq to have fun or to walk people. you can do it with an auto and 130whp. 90% of it is application
