So if you were to hook up a catch can on the v6 would it be placed in line between the valve and manifold inlet?

for a catch can you should connect the hose from the nipple on the rear valve cover which goes to the intake to the catch can, then, from the catch can back to the intake

Like he said above. Although, I really don't think you need a catch can. I put on an inline fuel filter (like the kind used on weedeaters or other small engines) from the crankcase vent valve and into the air intake. It's clear, so you can see the filter inside. It's been on there for 2 years now, and it doesn't have even a drop of oil on it.

I'm really wondering if the pcv valve hose is better, because pullled the hose of mine yesterday to take the valve out and rattle it. And I notice some oil of the hose end. Leading me to believe oil might gradually come out of it? Or maybe run two of them em. One for the pcv valve hose..and one for the hose that goes to the intake tube. I saw under the hood of a guys wrx, and he had two compressor filters for catch cans. Never asked the reason for two, but I guess similar reasons?

Compressor filters will work too. They're just removing moisture (in this case oil vapor) from the line.

try krankvents they only allow air to travel one way and block any blowback etc. although you shouldnt need anything unless your boosted, or just trying to dress up your engine bay.
as for the catch can you can route it to both you just need T adapters
