wow you dropped out the old engine from underneath?? impressed lol

pretty easy huh? haha

Believe it or not have you tryed underneath? Its alot easier tryed it from above and its a b*** taking it out at a big angle. tryed underneath to see and all you have ot do it till engine a tiny bit towards radiator support frame.

I have a question My transmission seal is leaking now. In which that tranny came off my 3.0. that half shaft that bolts to engine and transmission. should i use the one off the diamante or use mine.. I used mine and put 3 spacers on the block to make it even and the seal looks like it could be crooked and its leaking badly.

Good thing my headers i put on i can actually do the seal from above the engine i have so much space between firewall lol.

You think change seal and see what happends or do you recommend putting new seal and diamante half shaft?

Had to extend 2 plugs one on top of the manifold and the oil pressure sender thats on the filter.

Wasnt bad. I seen that engine inthe junkyard like 8 months ago so i decided to pull it and buy it. Car was crashed and caught on fire, I paid $230 for the engine complete. Now its completely rebuilt and runs smooth with stock non-tuned computer. 3.0 injectors.. 3.0 throttle body as the plug was different on the 3.5's. Along with advanced timing done on engine.

Dropping it out underneath the car is wayy easier!

Nice to see another 3.5 swap!

Congrats on a running swap! You're lucky that 3.5L was so cheap otherwise I would have given you a hard time about not swapping to the 3.8L ;)

I would still use the Galant half-shaft but grind down the axle bracket mounting point on the block. I seemed to have the same problem at first but it magically went away later. *Dunno* Now I'm 5-speed so it doesn't leak.

And I don't think I could lift my car high enough to pull out the engine from underneath lol. Did you just drag it out once it was down?

PS: Matt, you suck LOL

Thank you all, yeah we drug it out.. how we jacked car up so high was. we put the front on jack stands about normal size for underneath working. then took a 6 foot 4 by 4 peice of wood and stuck it after the jackstands which the wood covers both jack points and jacked the car up again. And of course. have someone put the stands up each time they are able to click higher.

Btw the seal doesnt always leak. But when jacking the car up in air it does come out alot faster.

yeah I would grind down the block when possible. I can't remember if I updated that in the tutorial or not.

when i looked at it and measured it looks like if i grinded the block down that the cv axle would hit the starter plate. and the angle of which the seal looks as if its going outward from the engine so that would mean it'd make it more of an angle. Not sure on that though -.-

outward from the engine? If you grind down the block, then it would move it more inward to the engine, making it more neutral

I dont see why the diamante shaft wouldnt work there. it should work fine with the diamante shaft. Im going to get a new seal and find that shaft and see how it goes from there

yeah actually check that out first. I don't think anyone has even tried that? Since it's made for the block, I'm assuming it will fix it lol. Are the half-shafts the same length?

Yeah when i removed it awhile back i rememeber it looking the same size. I dont see why no one ever used it when That'd be the best thing to use. I took the whole half shaft out last night to change seal and seal was wrong good thing i didnt pop out the old seal.. Stupid Advance Auto sucks. They have no output seal for a AT 3.0 galant but have a MT output seal for a 3.0 galant?? 8g never came stick rofl.. Anyways this weekend im going to junkyard to see if ican find shaft as a diamante is rarely ever in the yard there always only like 1 or 2 out of 600+ cars.

Thanks beam i will let you know if it works :)

This is why no one uses it lol. I bought my engine as a whole, already removed from the car.
You never know with the half-shaft lengths. For the M/T swap, you're supposed to use the M/T half shaft, and if you looked at them separately, they would look exactly the same. Side-by-side, though, the M/T is like 1/4" shorter I think

I have the half shaft.. Trying to make time for it as it isnt leaking no more.

Anyways i see about 3 more 3.5ls in the junkyard one someone took out and pulled tranny off almost was going to turn it out and see if it turned over easy.

Down here its only like 240$ with everything and like 150 with just the engine no accessories. Gotta love this junkyard lol.

Will keep you guys posted if that shaft works or not.
