so i was looking in a local clasfieds website and found some brand new fogs with switch. i bought them they are glass brand new. my 96 7g already had the cables for them on the front. on the inside when i went to install the switch. i found the plug behind the cover where the switch is supposed to be so i tried to plug the switch butt heres where i need help. the plug and the hole where its supposed to go looks like they should just plug but the switch pins are a bit wider than the wholes on the plug. can i just expand these holes?? or i got the wrong switch?? here are some pics

i want this to be all stock, i think i got the wrong switch. ive been searchnig that part number and all i get is lancer evo 5 fog switch. so maybe thats why they dont fit. the question is, is the wiring the same? if so i can just make the wholes bigger or just go and get a galant fog switch , which i cant find nowhere.

it looks like the plugs are a little different so i dont think that switch would work, you can try oemmitsubishiparts.com and see they have it.

Lol the thing is the guy that sold me those fogs used to work at a mitsu dealer back in 1999 and he stole them when he got fired. They been siting around ever since. Everything was brand new still in bags and boxes. I think he thought those where the ones that worked with the fogs when he took them. Ill have to buy brand new or ebay used. Thabks for the part number

I wonder if I take out my aftermarket switch and put in an OEM one if it would be as simple as taking the old one apart and putting the wires to the new one. I love the fact that mine is wired up to be on even with the high beams...but I think I would like the OEM switch

every 7g is pre wired. i have yet to see one that isnt. the wires are that and are hard to find at first. with the OEM switch i believe Stunr made a tutorial on how to rewire so they stay on like you have it set up evil.

it looks like it is the dimmer switch that is different on the assembly he has so he might be able to just switch out the dimmer switch too.

I had my radiator off the other day and looked for a litte while and couldn't find anything. I also looked inside the dash and couldn't find anything. Does the plug run into anything else so I can follow that wire to it?

The one i got is not for a g but for a mirage it fits in the housing but the pins are a bit to thick to fit in the holes of the plug. Pins are in the same spot so im thinking in making them fit see if it works if not ill buy one for a g somewhere

tonight i finished my semester in college so i decided to work on that switch. i didnt want to mess up the stock plug and since the guy that sold me the fog lights gave me 2 mirage fog switches i said lets try something. the stock plug has only 4 wires and there are 6 pins in the mirage and original galant switch 2 if those 6 are not used. so i took some wire and ran the pins needed from the pins to the plugs holes and it worked. so i took the switch and broke it in a primeval way very horrible destroyed the switch and took the pins and cut them in half to make em thiner. all this just not to mess the stock plug. the result? it worked. once u see the way i did this it looks horrible from the inside here are some pics
tha plug i dont want to mess up

how i destroyed the switch to be able to cut the pins so the fit in plugs holes

now i noticed something i wasnt expecting maybe its happening because thats not the switch i needed but fogs turn on while on low beam and high beam, not on park lights. is this normal? i thought the should turn off while on high beam.

I'm sorry to open this topic again. I got my fogs and I checked that same place to see if I have the wires and I do but when I went under the car to see where the wires went in order to connect to the fogs, I was unable to find them.

Any help guys? I got the oem switch

What I did when got my fogs I just bought a fog kit from autozone and a bigger fuse then ran it off my head lights so when I turn them on power runs to my switch it was easy but difficult to explain lol...... Never had a issue...
