Ok very pissed because this is the 3rd time trying to write this but hey 3rd times a charm. First time my brower randomly closed and the 2nd time I accidently clicked the back button SO this time im writing it in notepad n jus copy n paste it over lmao

Ive been around here awhile but never really wanted to create a build thread, I guess just too lazy.
But as im making more then just small mods here and there to my car i believe that a build thread would be not only the best way to track my progress but seek out help when problems occur and hear peoples ideas and advice

I do consider my car to be a show car
ive won a few trophies, its not easy goin up against the big bad evos and souped up eclipses/3000GT's but im doin my best to hold my own

im 21 years old so if u notice i take the cheap way out of things alot dont hold it against me im young broke n cheap lmao
i spend most of my time either on craigslist or ebay lookin for a good deal on something for my car or something i can buy cheap and sell for more like cell phones lol


2003 Dover Pearl White 2.4l Galant Es

This is my 2nd galant my first was a 99 that my brother totaled one day

my car has been sitting since december 31 2010 due to my own recklessness (not sure if thats a word) but since its been sitting so long of course i took it apart BUT due to my own carelessness (not sure if its a word) lost a few minor peices like bolts and spark plug off the top of my head
needless to say the car doesnt run and hasnt ran in about 2 months
Im hoping to bring my car back out very soon
my orignal plan was to bring the car out a month ago but due to problems with my license, money, and lack of parts that idea got cut my new goal is to have my car done by june 6 a unrealistic goal im aware of but a goal none the less

I see you've put in alot of work, props to you for that. Looks good, but couple things I would change if it were me...
-The rims dont do the car justice IMO. 20's are cool, just not those. No offense but they look kinda cheap.
-Rain/Wind Visors are cool, but not colormatched
-Lose the SunVisor TV's, those look tacky

If the visor TV's looked more OEM, it would be better, but you've already got a TV in the dash, its just too redundant.

You've got potential here for a really nice G, drop looks good, paint looks good, JDM Front end, etc. Just needs a lil fine tuning.

yea i want the vogue lip but i dont really like the little gap between the lip and the bumper itself when looking at it from the front, but as far as exhaust i do want to add something nice but nothing that loud either i want to fill out the space that is their from the rear bumper from cali

They don't make them in 20"s, but they'll be less strenuous on the trans, ball joints, tie rods axles, as they're fairly lightweight.

i mean im not a body man or anything but i dont think that is direct fit
at first i thought it was due to the 02-03 rear impact bar but i removed it entirely and it still doesnt line up to the rest of the car

the liberal grill seems to be off as well but ive been so busy i havent gotten a chance to take pics
also having problems with the fog lights i guess the mounting tabs got broken off? but they dont stay in place in the bumper and the brackets wont go on them due to the missing tab....figuring out what to do next...

LOL thats the samething that cali said but i did remove the black things its just that the gap is so huge it creates a shadow to make it seem like the black rock guard is still there but it is removed

The black plastic from the fender was removed, I was there when he tried to install the fiberglass extension and they are to short and huge gap from the fender. Same as the fiberglass rear bumper it does not line up on the car. We tried my JDM extension on his car and they fit perfect. Not sure yet if I'm going to install the JDM extension on my car or not.

The rear bumper has to go over the two metal brackets that are on both sides with two holes in them but I think once you bolt up the bumpers most gaps will be gone this is why I went with oem habe a body shop fix it

I did quite a bit of body work for the rear bumper to fit and line up, and I did have to add to the rear extensions also. And since its fiberglass, when you bolt up the bumper don't tighten it hard core, just enough to make it stay secure and survive a good hip thrust into it lol

lol i did as well i spent more then 800 and now it seems like im going to have to spend more to get it modded to fit the car lessoned learned but i got the side skirts from cali today it seems like they will fit directly but i havent test fitted them yet i hope for the best with them im trying very hard to get it done by my deadline of sept 9 ive made great progress tho next step tomorrow is to rip the dash out to make it black

paint has been put on hold due to hurricane and will be started up tomorrow

in the mean time tho....pics of the grill when i gave it to the painted he put it on the car and said "hell no is this even made for the car" lol then i pulled up the trusty tgc and showed him a few pics and he said maybe the fiberglass mold is off cuz it doesnt seem to fit at all like the others

yeah those seem to fit pretty well the body guy just threw it on there to see how it looked he didnt take the rock gaurd off the front or nothing so thats most likely why it looks a little off im very pleased about the sideskirts

the guy had to break the bumper down at both ends and remake it to fit along with the ext you can see where he added to them to make it look like it belongs there

To many issues and what not from mold makings and actually producing the product. I had minor issues with my items from Cali but A. Everything was molded from JDM parts. B. Its fiberglass so you can't expect perfect corners and curves, thats what fine body filler is for, and body shops. C. Fiber glass also shrinks when it dries in large quantities, and twists from its own curing heat. I had twists, bends, caved in parts and what not on all my stuff, but with a little work and time. It will look good man trust me. Looking good, keep it up.

fiber glass is a pita to work with. when ur getting twists/bends its mostly from how they lay the fiberglass as well as the heat from curing

so my body guy f'd up and took too long he finally finished a few hours before i was supposed to take the car down to the show -___- i took it as is no wet sand no buff nothing as i was driving to take it to get cleaned and put my rims on the car died out on me so it didnt make it to the show oh well...

ok no spark no injector pulse crank sensor i got a new one went to go to change it (had no idea how hard it was or maybe bcuz im inexperinced lol) after about 3 hours of work found out that the harmonic balance belt snaped n hit the timing belt which i guess hit the wire for the sensor either way i gotta get the belts tomorrow blah id had no luck if it wasnt for bad luck

i forgot i had a build lol but ivory the timing didnt snap it was the other belt that let go it messed up the timing belt but didnt break it so got both them changed and replaced the sensor it took out

lol i know im workin on changing the rims lol but that grill was only put there for the show i zip tied it i still have to shape the "mesh" behind the grill so it stays on firm then i will double side tape it in place so it will connect to the bumper

so see what had happen was.....i have a 03 and yeah it has that little nose piece and i wanted to take it off so yea....now the hood dont close lol

i have a very big problem thats driving me crazy at the moment for some reason my coil packs keep melting i have no idea whats causing it i changed everything and its still happening has this ever happend to anyone? i checked to make sure everything is connected tight everything is grounded correct but they still keep melting this happend for the first time since i took my valve cover off to paint it and ever since then it keeps melting

same one i taken it off n painted it a few diffrent times without changing it...u think that might be the cause of it?

in other news along with the coil issues my radadior is cracked are there any diffrences between the 99-01 and 02-03 because it seems like there is 100 dollar change between the 2 =/

Not so long ago there was someone with coilpack problems, he connected them wrong, are you sure yours are connected and placed where they should?

And for the rad I'm not sure, so maybe go to rockauto and check if the part #'s match or call some local auto parts stores.

Good chance it could be if you've never changed it or haven't changed it in a while. Try that (get the while kit) and change your spark plugs if they're old. Process of elimination is the best way to fix issues like these...

as weird as it might sound i think the problems fixed themselves lol

i noticed the ground for the neg wire was painted over, the hole i should say, so i removed the paint wit wire to expose the metal and now it doesnt seem to melt the packs anymore i drove for a hour - 2 hours straight no melting coils so very pleased with that

as far as the rad strangely enough i forgot about it being so focused on the coil packs n by the time i realized it i had already been driving for awhile no problems no over heating nothing...there still is a very long hairline crack along the top of the rad but it doesnt seem to be affecting it anymore, i threw some jb weld on it but when the problem was at its peak the fluid came right out the crack thru the jb weld like it wasnt even there so im not sure what to think im happy now lol i still plan on getting a new rad still tho cuz it doesnt look to pretty to have a show car with a crack/gunk all over a noticeable part of the engine bay...jus need to find one under 200$

ON TO THE MODS
The wheels are auto couture supreme, not what i wanted, i wanted to stay in the wedsport brand and get some LXZ but my budget cant swing brand new this season so im doing what i can lol but these wheels are a legit jap 3pc wheel and i got them for a STEAL so im not really complaining. im going VIP so im trying to make it fit, clearly its TOO wide lol. also in the front they scrape my brembo by like a forth of a pinky. was thinkin maybe a spacer could help that out? heres a pic of it on the back in the pic the car is still jacked up cuz i was just about maxed out on my coils when i had my 18s the

in the pic the car is jacked up cuz i was pretty low on my 18s so when i lowered the car the fender went too low on the tire lol
WIDEEEEE clearly will need a roll and pull hopefully that will be enough cuz i cant really afford massive body work to make these sit flush. also wanted to camber it out i looked on here for the home made camber ect but i didnt wanna revive a 5 year thread so i figure id jus ask here. it looks like that method is only used for corrective camber if im correct that means i couldnt really get and aggressive neg camber. i dont want to force it but i would like the wheel to tilt enough so that after a roll and pull the fender will be touching the lip of the wheel when i slam it to the ground (will be on air ride by 2013)

ALSO i am looking for anything wood grain for the interior and the nardi jdm black steering wheel along with a few more things more will be posted on the WTB section when i have a chance
ALSO not 100% yet but so just testing waters now but might be selling my wedsport sa-70, my jdm heads (looking for the glass ones now), lightdepot 3rd gen tails got them from ebay for dirt cheap shoulda known why didnt kno they were depot til they got to me lol (these are reps and they dont work with the bulbs for the jdm harness too lazy to find bulbs that do fit honestly lol rather just sell and get the real tails)

my brembro brakes
my 02-03 tails and my usdm heads
custom trunk set up fits right in with amp space under 10" sub (can include amp)
a few more things cant think yet but this is just testing waters of course i will post in the f/s section wit pics and the paper wit my name on it thats just to see if anybody would be intrested in the stuff at all

You can give it get more negative camber on the rear with the ingalls kit that comes with the brackets, greddy would know more about getting more camber

i think they 10.5? cant remember lol im not bagged yet getting the last soon trynna figure out if i should use a bag or sleeve on the rear cuz there really isnt alot of room to work with back there besides that scared of rubbing thru a bag when the wide wheel is on tilt lol i got all the basic needs just waiting for the air management install should be done early jan after i finish the research

so a problem that has been poking me for awhile but i never really gave it any thought cuz i figured it was supposed to do it is my brembro brake squeal. i recently noticed that the squeal is only coming from 1 side tho the passenger side. ive changed the pads twice i swapped over the rotors to see if maybe the squeal would jump sides but didnt the only thing i really did notice tho is when swapping the rotors the sound did seem to go away for about 2 or 3 days, it was still there but MUCH MUCH more quiet and for less time sqealing, for example id press the brake and by the time i got to a low speed it would wine all the way til stop but for those 2 to 3 days it wined only when car was about to be at a complete stop any insite? i tried replacing pads ect applyed the anti squeal also tried the spray on anti squeal (that goes on the rotor, like a paint) <- that worked as well but after a few days it came back just the same

yeah thats leo prez of serious innovations he jus recently had his car wrapped and spray painted live by a graffi artist during a car show serious props to him never before done
