may be looking for a USDM Facelift Grille

There is no USDM facelift grill. The 99-01 USDM Galants had a removable grill that was similar in shape to the pre-facelift VR-4 grill, but had "granny fins" and was a lot more shallow. The 02-03 USDM Galants had two grills on either side of the "nose" of the bumper. Basically you can't have these grills without the center piece of the bumper.

Anyway, that's a nice tan leather interior!! Can't believe you're getting rid of it lol

Looks nice. I like those tail lights much better than the other ones of I've seen before. That is a nice interior also, I would keep it. Its funny to see people wanting our USDM parts when we will hunt down any JDM or World spec parts that we can, Lol!

I vote for the Vogue grille and Dolphin bumper. Looks 10 times better than the other bumper IMO. And the New Style grille doesnt look as good as that Vogue grille does with the Dolphin bumper. Also I agree with jimmy_02, cut a vent open in the center of the hood.

so i have her back now, new rear quarter is on and is mint.
i fitted my Template FMIC to it today and welded on the Mounting Tabs.
also fitted the Trans Cooler
Triple Air Horns(but havent bolted them up just yet
and worked with the grille, i made a Facelift Style Grille in FG and now im going to extend it on the ends to close up the gap between the USDM lights and the grille.

whilst i do all this cosmetic changing the car goes to the painters now to get tidyd up.

for now im going t okeep it Factory whlst i wait for my goodies from Cali and then decide what kit to go for.

also looked at where im going to put the FPR ,but as im doing custom piping i dont know just yet where the Air intake is going to be so i may have to wait for now

So today i did alot of the fidly bits and pieces(time consuming)

i removed the tow bar,the Fujitsubo Legalis R evolution 3" System and replaced it with a RS*R 2.5" System running into a Ralliart Rear Muffler.
as i do not want any rumble or drone from this car. so now i should get good flow, quieter sounds, and a descent sound from the RalliArt muffler.

i also fitted the Gas Struts for the bonnet
Finished the headlight fitment (a bit of plastic welding) and welding of some steel bits as i wanted a near factory fitment style.
I worked out how much and how im building the Centre Grille up and this is now at the welder to be built up to meet the headlights .

the grille fits FACTORY wich im excited about BUT i had to shave off 4 mounting lugs leaving only 3 to bolt on wich seems to have held pretty well.

Removed the Radiator and built up the Alloy Radiator ready for fitment.
Removed the factory Plumbing and bent up the wire templates for the new FMIC and intake 2.5" Steel System(no flex from factory piping now YAY)
Fitted the Aftermarket Trans Cooler
Fitted the Horns
Fitted the Greddy Controller up by the mirror and tucked al lthe wiring away nicely.
Notched out the Impact beam to hug the FMIC so im capping it and wil weld it up this week.
we will be plastic welding the bumper up round the base of the headlights to close the gap adn make it look factory.allotta hard work comming up with that..

i also Cut the guards out to allow the wide wheels to not rub on the flares

but heres some piccys to keep you al excited as much as i am

and i did some more work on the wifes wagon.

bent up some 2.5" pipes today to start making the hard piping kit and remove ALL the factory flexible hoses and plastic hoses..

also fitted the amp and wired it in for the rear sub woofer, and installed the controller aswell
Bumper also came back today from plastic welders and the gaps between the USDM Headlights and JDM Bumper are now NO MORE
so the bumper and grille are now at painters and should see it by the weekend or early next week..

please tell me, that the rear turbo isnt joining the front at 90degrees?

you want them to merge at a Y, not a T. you will loose power due to turbulance and pressure.

edit: are those press bends? q, i love your fibreglass work and but leave the pipework to someone else

ok so good news now is that i now have 99% of what i need to complete her car,the new Retro sculped USDM Facelift Bumper and grille arrived along with the rear bumper,k6 mirrors, the mudflaps i make for the facelift models etc, painting looks minter.. so yesterday i prepped the mudflaps with rubberiser in the wheel facing sides..

i changed the ugly green led lighting oround the interior to blue leds and pretty much today is ASSEMBLY day YAY... then off to the Muffler shop to fit the RalliArt Exhaust and the Resignator

Tubing can be a PITA to do if you dont do it a lot. Its also more difficult in your case since that engine bay is very busy, not much room to work and everything needs to fit just right, plus you gotta join the charge pipes and transition them correctly for flow. I think its a good idea to let a pro do that.

:shocked2:ok so today i went like lightning..
cant believe how much i did ..
Exhaust is finished and all welded up.
FMIC is fitted and all welded up.
Door mirror indicators all wired up.
amp repaired and reinstalled.
Mudflaps fitted.
testdrive at low speed.

drove ok,tyres eating 1 of the airhornes so need to move it in more...
headlights work mint i must say, very nice.

1 question tho,can i fit HID Kits to the Ebay lights?

and the biggest saw thumb must be that the painters painted the bumpers and bits too dark... oh well not my problem, theyll need to fix that :orangesighw:

and camera didnt like taking night shots,so tomorrow youll have images for those hungry for a geeeeez!!:squish:

Question for the HID Gurus please....
the cuttoff is as we know on the wrong end of the car for us here, does anyone know if its possible and how to swap them around maby or change it ??
before i try a failing attempt id love some help on if and how please

oakrdrs187
08-21-2011, 02:20 AM
^^^ It is possible, you need to open the projector, usually the aftermarkets have 4 Phillips screws holding the lens to the base of it where the bulb goes (It was this way on my friends eBay projectors for his Ranger Pickup). As you pull it apart you'll notice a piece of sheet metal with a familiar cutoff pattern this is the light shield. One thing you can try is flipping the shield, or trim it on a bench grinder to the pattern desired.

See if you can get away with simply flipping it, if not fabricate one to imitate the original but with a reversed pattern.

There was one dude with those heads that took out the cutoff shield and made one completely flat out of a aluminum sheet. IIRC about the mounting points,I think there were 2 screws on each side of the cutoff shield, you can flip them, you'll know when you take the projector apart found the pics but they are down.
