Factory Keyless Remote to unlock / lock doors not working

Hi, i have a 2006 galant four cylinder and was wondering why my remote sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. Sometimes it lock and sometimes it wont. Same with unlocking the trunk. Where is the sensor located on the car? And how do i check to see if its the battery on the remote, i dont see how to replace the battery on remote. Any help would be greatful. Its the Factory Key. I only got 1 key with the car.

Factory key-less entry systems are the worst for range. But it's in the factory alarm brain don't bother.



And how do i check to see if its the battery on the remote

You pull the battery out and replace it with a known good battery.

Hint: The battery is inside the remote.

WoW, i guess it was the battery, what threw me off was the fact that the light would work sometimes. I took me about 10 mins to figure out but realized that the remote opens from the bottom of the key even though there is a groove on the top. replaced and works fine.

this video helped me a little, mine opened up similarly from the bottom.
