Been searching through the forums, seen several cars with harness bars but no real good info. I need one that is sturdy because I"ll actually be using it for its intended purpose, relatively affordable, and one that doesn't require a ton of modification to fit the car. Post up what you know and what you have, etc. I don't need general harness bar info, just galant specific stuff.

Thanks in advance.

I could've sworn I saw a thread about it awhile back, I'll look for it quick.

I wonder if stuff that works in 3g's would work?

check out that $150 universal one on ebay that seems to be what a lot of the galant guys that had one were using. i know a few evo and subaru guys with them too i plan on getting one but ive got some other stuff to get first.

theres even pictures of it mounted in a galant

Well, I finished installing it only took 1 hour didn't break a sweat. It does not come with instructions but it's pretty self explanitory.

Greddy for real track use your better off going custom. You can have one custom fabricated for around $400 or so out of chromoly.

^that's what I'm leaning towards right now, I just wanted to see if anyone had one from Cali's old group buy laying around or something of that nature

I remember seeing something I think it was a civic where the bar actually bent from a front crash. The ebay one would be fin if it was customized to have stabilizer bars that ran to the center tunnel

G-spot- please say those harnesses are only really used for show? Because I personally would not trust them. I would run only Takata or Scroth.

Matt, what about Sabelt? Willans? I'd take both of those over Takata/Scroth.

Talk to Marc (Ivory8g). His fits quite well and is very rigid.

Custom for the application is pointless unless all of us have money to literally piss away on a one off item. The universal ones are made of good material and keep in mind these things are not roll cages (ie where one would be highly concerned with material used, structural support/rigidity, and design.

Oh, I have no illusions about added structural rigidity, I just need something solid that fits well and will hold up for a long time
