Duplicolor metal cast in yellow..some painters tape and some aluminum foil for masking. Months later still holding up. If you use it..do light coats and build. Too much at one time ruins clarity. If you have a hair dryer..you could spray, then blast it on high for a minute, then another coat and so on. About 3 coats should do

If you want overlays, go to ebay. You might also want to do yellow bulbs behind the yellow film to make it deep yellow.

Has anybody used Krylon Stained Glass Color Spray Paint?

M-Rod

That's probably what I would use if I were to do that, due to the fact its meant to have transparency.

Yellow bulbs = dark halogen colored lighting ($17- 35)

Yellow tint/ vinyl = piss yellow ($20- 30)

HID 3k = bright, brilliant yellow lights ($35 - 60 for inexpensive set)

In the end, you'll probably end up with the HIDs.

I'll probably go with the Krylon Stained Glass Color Spray Paint and ddm 3k's combo.

I went with the duplicolor over krylon, for some reason I forget. I think it was a color issue. But besides that the duplicolor is resistant to some solvents and oil I think I read on the can, plus holds up to heat well. So I was sold. I have yellow bulbs too. But I had them prior to spraying the lenses yellow.

Won't a yellow lens reduce the output?

Where can i get yellow foglights?

I bought these (893 yellow bulbs), less than $10 shipped for 2:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Golden-Yellow-37-5w-893-Xenon-HID-Foglight-Light-Bulbs-/350521552674?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item519cb66f22#ht_3118wt_1169

You can also buy these for around $50 shipped. I bought a set of these a few years back and never installed them.

They'd probably look good with my parking lights ;)

I might put them on when I get a new USDM bumper cover. BTW, if you didn't know, you can put Mustang GTS fog light covers over our stock fog lights. It's not a perfect fit, but it works. I need to find what I did with my covers. I have two sets, one brand new, too.

This is real old school. Probably early Spring 2000 before I got my personal plates.

I would like to see pictures of those amber foglights installed on a G. I bet they wouldn't look like parking lights with a different color bulb combo.

I know, but back then, only the DE came with black grille's and no one was selling them (and then I contacted Don Herring Mitsubishi and they were able to get all sorts of OEM stuff). I got my first black grille from VegasMatt a couple years (maybe 3 years?) after this pic was taken.

I used Lamin-X film and Nokya Hyper yellow bulbs for mine. You can get a 4"X8" sheet of Lamin-X off Ebay for $5.00 which is enough to do both the fogs. Just stick on, squeegee and trim and you're done.......if you don't like it you can peel it right off. I later changed mine to optic blue Lamin-X.

Blue film and yellow bulbs?

wonder how that looks
personally i want the yellowest for my fogs but i got the new style fogs lol is there anyway to cover one fog without covering the flood light??

carl3g

^ I wouldn't think so. It might look weird with a yellow block in the new style. Just go yellow hid.

This. Personally im not convinced on the whole film shit...

carl3g
01-13-2012, 06:30 PM
The film will help change the light output. The most yellow will be yellow film + yellow bulb.

New style fogs with yellow film would look weird imo.

oakrdrs187
01-13-2012, 07:00 PM
Oh I know the color will change to Peter Griffin piss yellow, but where I'm not convinced is in the films durability, considering weather, heat from light, car washes....

My DDM HID setup.. the heads are 8000k 35w and the fogs are 3000k 35w.
I would definitely recommend purchasing these..I've had them on a few of my vehicles and never had an issue. Can't go wrong for $30.

Blue film and yellow bulbs?

Lol, no. When I changed the film to optic blue, I changed the bulbs back to white. Lamin-x is awesome stuff and holds up just fine with no peeling or anything from heat. The stuff is thick, and gives good protection from rocks etc. The heat from your bulbs actually sets the film and relaxes any small air bubbles you may still have under it. I use a high pressure washer on the car twice a week, never had any sort of peeling or separation whatsoever. and hey, for only $5, if you don't like it you can remove it.

Old pic: Cheap $16 ebay 3000k yellow fog bulbs. In my opinion is a lot easier to install.
They're very bright at night. :)

Edit: I don't have these installed anymore. I switched to 6k to match my headlights. But I'm thinking of installing them back. lol

Yeah you need to leave the yellow fogs. I love that look. I have it too but with 10k hid heads. I like the blue tint and I also have 5k heads but idk if i should leave my blue tintish color I love or go for the clean white look.
