What's going on people? I was wondering if anyone knew what the maximum hp you can get on an i4 8G without the use of a s/c or t/c?

Without the use of any kind of forced induction, i dont really know... With the amount of internals and mods that can be either upgraded or changed, the hp numbers could be easily close to 300+ but who knows..

on a 2.4L motor, you can probably putt enough stress on it to make as fast of 340 to 350hp to wheels max, with about 370-390hp at 5500rpms. This is a guess, but it's close to accurate.

If you plan on getting this much power, be sure and get your tranny bullet-proofed first, or take it to level 10 for them to mod it out.

Hmm, that much huh. That's good news, I was looking to get around the 260 - 275 area. I know it's gonna be a long process, but this new knowledge will ease the ride. Thanks.

my bad, didn't see the part "without" part. There isn't much motor upgrades for the I4 really. All they have out now would get you close to 220-250HP all motor. Sorry :-(

if you have the money you can make as much horsepower that theframe of your car can handle. magnus motorsports customized the 4G64 and got 800 hp. It's all about the benjamins https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

the magnus car isnt streetable either

if you have enough money you can get around 300 at the wheels, 350 would be possible but you would spend more money than all the money u invested in the first place. Going all motor and trying to get 300 HP is going to be very very Hard and costly.

With a turbo and supercharger you cna get 300 easily, It will be cheaper and more doable.

But possible...So where do we begin? (no, Im asking you)

1. grind the flashings off the crankshaft and have it nitrited
2. send one of your connecting rods to manley and have them send you back four fully machined billet rods
3. get your block bored to 40 over and put in JE forged .040 overbore pistons.
4. full engine balancing for the crank, rods, pistons
5. send your intake manifold to a machine shop and have them extrude hone it.
6. port and polish the cylinder head
7. have a ferra valvetrain installed
8. call comp cams and get a custom grind cam built for specs of bottom end
9. call clevitte and get a full set of their H2 alloy bearings
10. header, high-flow cat, 2.5" tubing and high flow tuned muffler
11. stand alone fuel management control
12. high performance fuel pump, high flow fuel filter, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, performance injectors
13. msd ignition
14. cold air intake
15. don't install the a/c compressor or powersteering pump so there is no drain on the motor
16. 100 wet shot of nitrous computer controlled
17. mugen or jet electronic control unit
18. custom machined billet sprokets for running a timing chain with balancer shaft removed
19. roll cage, helmet, 5 point harness and hold the f#@k on!

go 60 over and put a stroker kit in it every little bit of displacement counts with no FI.

the walls of the 4g64 are very close together. I would start to worry about temperatures increasing and warping the cylinder bores at anything over 40, for a daily driver anyway.

I emailed Matt at vision imports, and he said RPW still makes the quad throttle boddies for our 4g64's. Having a quad setup is still N/A, and you can get mega amounts of hp, ooohh yeah, did i mention, it costs around the same as SC? So you dont have to spend mega bucks to get tons of HP out of your car.
