Tein S-Tech springs will lower you enough to get rid of the gap and even out stance.

Tails must be JDM asap!!

And then burn those horrendous tails with fire and pour duel on them every 20 seconds. Lol!!

Eh, those wheels looked better silver. You have a pretty much all black car with these bright white wheels, doesn't flow with anything.

Install those JDM tails, nab a set of Tien springs (get some KYB AGX's to go with them) fix the rear bumper and you're off to a good start.

So I bought 2 48 led switch back 1157 for my front turn signals and bought 2 resistors for them. My question is I saw that 3 ohm 50w solves for the front and the back and 6 ohm 25w solves for one signal (total of 4 for all signals) Now I got a pair from ebay that says 6 ohm 50w....wth? Will I only need these 2 for rear and front or would I need 4 of these?

It's not a particular brand name, but I got it off of ebay months ago no probs at all, my friend who's a mechanic installed it and was surprised how it wasn't cheap. It's a catback exhaust for the 2.4L and it was only 135 SHIPPED

^TRUE. But I will tell you what I did. rpm is easy, start the g drive it around, till it warms up. let it idle, and then put the needle back on where it normally idles at. MPH is a whole different story. I swaped my 03 needles to a 99 guage cluster( I didn't like the yellow needles) I took pictures before I removed the needles, where they where at in 5 gear at 3k rpm, and at idle. so thats the easiest way. I don't recommend doing it on a crowded road though (mine was empty)

Ok but the mph is at 0 you can't mark that. There is adjusting screws to adjust how tight or loose it is. My mph right side (60 on) works fine. The needle comes back when not going that speed but the needle gets stuck on 60 less. I would have to knock on it to loosen up that's what the screws are for

JDyal
02-20-2012, 10:46 PM
I cleared my needles and as you can see to the right the rpm one is broken. I hope crazy glue works and I wanna paint them blue. I also cleared the red spot by the F in the fuel meter. I think it looks a lot better and may try doing it for the red area in the high rpm

http://i334.photobucket.com/albums/m403/jamesied/1329790237.jpg

I see people have a problem with the fuel needle and they fill up and put the needle on full. Surprising I was gonna do that but the needle fixed itself. Just the mph and rpm needles get stuck in certain places

oakrdrs187
02-21-2012, 12:35 AM
Just remember, trust the light, not the needle. Do that and you should never run out of gas. Mine is all out of whack, my full level is right below the F line after shoving another gallon of gas into the tank after the pump clicked full, and my light comes on when the needle marks 1/4.

JDyal
02-21-2012, 12:46 AM
Thanks but I wasn't complaining about that at all. The fuel needle re-calibrated itself even tho it wasn't in the same spot

You're a minority, most people have no love for the USDM 8Gb front bumper.

A lip really makes the bumper pop more.

JDyal
02-23-2012, 01:45 AM
I'm getting a lip. See if I was to cut the mid of the grill and replace it with a one piece like a jdm, it would look nice, but then you can't differenciate the 8ga from the 8gb since we all have the same tails and the grill is the only difference. I like being different

specter6633
02-23-2012, 01:48 AM
yes the lip that is mentioned on the forums would look great on out car. i was thinking of getting one for $45 on ebay, the one that doesnt require to be extended. looks good too. also cutting the stupid grill divider thing is alot of work. and unless u can fiber glass fill it or do something to fill the huge gap its gonna look ugly. does the 8g 99-01 bumper fit on a 8gb?

Also getting led amber/yellow singals when i put the extra socket in and i might think of getting led spider brake light since it looks awesome and if I do i'll take the switch backs and put it as the red turn signal, if not, I already have 1157 led for the signal

Well i didnt know much about galants and i coulda bought a 2nd gen jdm for the price of the altezza, i was chaning to led reverse light when my stock tail bolts just fell out...i couldn't glue it back in so i went shopping. I liked the black altezzas but every fucking time i ordered it, the sellers would say it's out of stock...DON'T ADVERTISE IT THEN!! So i got fed up and got the ugly chrome. After tinting everything except reverse it looked nice till i got pulled over by a bitch who gave me 4 tickets and 9 days to pay and court date

specter6633
02-23-2012, 02:32 AM
ticket for what?

JDyal
02-23-2012, 02:37 AM
Well my fault but she was od like crazy, it was a state trooper and i was getting on the highway. I made sure she passed but i guess I passed her...4 tickets the bitch gave me. Red turn signal, brake light out (damn altezzas...come with cheap bulbs, had it 5 months at the time) tint too dark on tails, and tint in front windows. so i had to pay all that and there's a fucking COURT DATE for the bulbs being red. Now this bitch didn't mark mandatory date on the ticket so i didn't think to look into it. I got a notice on 1/5/12 about my date i missed on 12/21/11 so it was rescheduled to 2/6/12 and they changed it without telling me to 2/28/12....good thing my dad got a copy of the ticket. They also told him that they never check the court date off but I was supposed to know to call them since I couldnt pay for the ticket...what fucking pigs i used to respect them but now i get pulled over for stupid shit and it goes on my record

specter6633
02-23-2012, 02:41 AM

See I like it plain on yours since your g is red and it matches. Mine is black and that's why I wanted just a slight tint where you can see it and the red. What do ya think about that?

See I'm weird, to me if ever there was a reason to tint them, it's because I have a red car. I love the contrast, I thought they looked better on my gray Galant. So on the black car the red pops to me, where if you tint them, it takes the contrast away some and it doesn't pop as much. Just my thoughts.

While I agree with everything you say, I can't help but feel like the rant took a shot at a few of us, now in all Friendlyness, the OP has been asking for thoughts, opinions and suggestions on things he plans on doing all through his build, some of us merely mentioned our opinions in form of statements. I understand the community is here to help and not judge which is why I personally stated not to open his tail lights for fear he may not be able to re-seal them properly making the problem worse, while you and I may be confident in our abilities to take on such a task we can't assume the same for JD, so rather than going for the path of approval on something he may not be able to handle I chose the path of prevention and explained why, mainly because it isn't my money, and I would hate for something to get permanently water damaged and I influenced it. So all in all, agreed we are no one to tell him what and what not to do, and I don't think any of us meant to force him to mod his car a certain way. But I will this, again in all fun and laughs, sounds like y'all were pushing the smoke as much as we were against it Lol! Just saying. No personal fouls meant nor taken D.

oakrdrs187

For the scratches you try some rubbing compound or carnuba wax. It would help more if you used a buffing wheel or buff ball on a drill or grinder to really get it in there and work out the imperfections.

Ok guys so now I have a new problem with my thermostat. Idk if this happens with everyone, but ever since I got my G, it would make like a shutter sound when switching from hot to cold which I guess changed the valve. I used the AC on Tues since I was so HOT and normally I'm not. Now the thermostat wont change back to hot and doesn't make that shutter sound when it's on hot so the valve is still on cold. And my luck it's been freezing and raining for the past 4 days and I'm frozen in there. Is there anything I can do so I don't have to take it to my mechanic?

Well it has the push button on top to shift and the button on the side for the overdrive. Since the 8G doesn't have a button for the O/D, DTP thought he would use it to toggle on/off his LED strips in his footwells.

The top button takes place of the release button on your stock shifter. The side is for o/d, but we don't have it in the 8g. The toggle has 3 wires coming out of it... I haven't had the chance to look into it much more yet.

It's real simple. You just have to modify the white stalk thing to fit the new one. They're really easy to swap if you dremel too much.

Ok guys. For those of you that know I had problems with my HID fogs. It turns out like you said I didn't need a relay. My friend figured it out because one ballast was bad and the connection included with the HIDs weren't full hence no light because of no connectivity. We spent a while putting them in and here they are

I personally recommend the V6 or outlander, that eBay one is probably more of a headache than what it's worth.

DTP
03-15-2012, 07:53 AM
Go with the V6 TB. They're easy to find... And install. Just make sure you get the right gasket and bypass the coolant lines.

I'll PM you in a bit about the shifter

Diffidently go with the V6 one like they said youll notice the change once its installed. oh and yea like DTP said bypass the coolant. Its a PITA if you try to fit the coolant lines.

Well since no one would answer this question when it was a topic on another thread anyway that kept getting ignored and posted over....Let's try here

Everyone who was saying to cut my grill and put mesh behind it, how would I go about doing that?

dknight3
03-23-2012, 01:20 AM
i would start with a saw or dremel and some mesh.

JDyal
03-23-2012, 01:27 AM
Right I was thinking the same thing but how do i get the mesh to stay and look nice on it?

JDyal
03-23-2012, 01:37 AM
What do you guys think of this?

http://www.customcargrills.com/products.asp?cat=27

And a little cheaper on ebay

dknight3
03-23-2012, 05:02 AM
yea looks good depends on your taste i guess. i would bend it around the grille and glue it with some epoxy or somthing

JDyal
03-23-2012, 08:14 AM
I was thinking that and on the website they have like rubber frames that goes around it to taper off the sharp edges

dknight3
03-23-2012, 01:17 PM
who cares about sharp edges its going to be glued back and you will never have to touch it hopefully.

You could go to home depot and get gutter mesh, it's the same design and probably cost less too.

dknight3
03-23-2012, 04:14 PM
yea i was going to say something about that but ive never used it before so i couldnt tell you anything about the quality..

And I also got the damage fixed

http://i334.photobucket.com/albums/m403/jamesied/1332784215.jpg

Also the home depot grill wasn't what I like I'll try going to another one since there wasn't much choice so basically I'm asking where else can I get a hexagonal grill because I don't like diamond
