replaced the timing belt, and now i am a little concerned. all of my marks are aligned, but if i put a long socket extension in the 1 cyl, and turn the crankshaft, when the 1 cyl is TDC (the socket is at the highest point) the marks are not lined up, they are about 1/4 of the way around. the car will not start now, so I'm concerned that i've really messed something up. I need to try to get it running for this week, so any help would really be appreciated.

Only replace the belt? Did u unbolt the crank position sensor or unplug the crank sensor?
Check to see if u have spark. Even if the timing belt is off by a tooth it should be able to start

I unbolted it. Was that bad? could that be the reason why it didn't start?
