Car won't go into gear after rolling back off jack

What started out as a possible battery issue or starter issue is now just frustrating. My car wouldn't start so I was going to remove the starter and get it tested. My car is on the driveway on an incline with the emergency brakes on. When I go to jack it up, the car rolls back off the jack and stops. I got the car to start (somewhat) put now the car will not go into gear. I depress the brakes but the shifter will not move out of park. Don't know if rolling back while the emergency brakes was on locked something up.

Anyone have any ideas or what to do to?

Well guess what? I left my car sitting for 2 days and didn't try to even start it, even though it can start now. I went and started it and it started up and then I was able to shift out of park. I went down the driveway and did a K-turn and backed it up the driveway. I don't know what happened to get to all of a sudden to work.
