Well G fans, here it is:

http://www.autonews.com/page.cms?pageId=306 ('http://www.autonews.com/page.cms?pageId=306')

(scroll down for the pics)

Doesn't look as bad as I thought. The base 2.4l MIVEC engine is a good upgrade and the 3.8l V6 looks powerful enough to keep up with the competition.

No offense, but in my opinion, that thing looks like crap. I like the new power plants, especially the MIVEC, but damn the package looks like a dodge neon that merged with a stratus and some other shit in the middle. It's UGLY!!

I'm also moving this post to the right topic.

hmmm! - the same one that we had pics of earlier way back - they went the route of the shape of the new altima/accord,maxima etc etc etc....!! guess thats the new shape to come!!! oh well, i could live w/ that 3.8 liter v6!!!

rhombus-shaped lights - damn, they should've stayed long-wise rectangular!!!

SpecialK

It looks nice and sexy but I'm not feeling the Grille at all and look at the rear view mirrors the look nasty but at least they look like the fold in, the Diamante looks nice but again the grille areais not looking that good.

I'm highly disappointed, and Mitsu says that they wann have 100,000 sales of that monstrousity...that thing looks like the Maxima in the front and a Mustang Fastback in the rear. I'm gonna stick with my 8G all the way

Eeehh, Galant lookin sorry, folks. I do like the 3.8L V6, I wonder if that's the 6G75 motor ...

I love Mitsubishi.. don't get me wrong, but what have they been smoking? To get me into that monstrosity, you would have to automatically buy me a hot bodykit and let me watch as you destroy those bumpers with a sledge hammer. Those lights are nasty and it looks like a crackhead version of the Altima. I'll stick with my 8G.

It'll be tight. Let's be optimistic. Hell, it'll be bigger, stronger and fast than an 8G, just the front ain't as pretty. So what to do? A 8G to 9G front clip swap. I know it would be possible. If not, I'm sure there are people out there with enough $$$ to make a whole new carbon fiber front end and use S15 Silvia headlights or something.

Well I have said it once and I will say it again Mitsubishi Motors of America just cant get it right. I mean before the cars were good looking and had no balls, now the cars are getting the HP they need and the body design is fucked up.

I dont know maybe this 2004 Galant will grow on me, but I doubt it will.

Jesus I could design a better looking car with dog shit and tooth picks!

You know what after reading about the Galant its not that bad. This new Galant GTS seems like a bad ass. And compared to the revised Diamante that looks like a retard designed it, I guess the 2004 Galant aint half bad

HeadAche
04-16-2003, 05:49 PM
I just want to know if it will have aftermarket support thats it.. Besides that it just looks really weird 2 me, gotta see it imperson, than i will decide.

When they make a nice kit for it and get that shitty grill out of there I think it will pretty damn good.

KRONER
04-16-2003, 05:57 PM
i think it looks alright - the lines remind me of a lexus 300GS - the front needs some work - but then again so does the front of the 2002+

that thing is so craptacular. it looks good up until the grill where it is squared off when the rest off the car is somewhat round. eww just eww, ill take a 2k2 over that thing any day.

I actually like how it looks...................its not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, its going to be more powerful, and I think it is Nissan inspired, but a large improvement on what they are offering.

It's "nice". It does not have the attractive/aggressive style of the 8G. Does appear to definately be sharing something with the Midsize D/C vehiches.

The biggest problem I have w/ it is... well, all of it. The front looks like an SUV, and I don't have a clue what they were thinking on the rear. The interior looks like every other new car interior out there. Nothing distinct other than the ugliness.

Well, @ least it's not the new Diamante.

I HATE THE FRONT!!!! With that said, i just realized how much i hated the front of the 2002 galant that i have now grown to love. With the power in this thing, it gives us alot of possibilites. And hell, if you don't like the looks, maybe we'll have a chance to get some new parts from it  . Who knows, i bet 3months and 200 photoshops down the road, i just might like it....

Ghost Beat
04-17-2003, 03:24 PM
it just looks like every other new car coming out i refuse to even call that a galant lol.

i am feeling the 9g a lot more than the new diamante, What are they thinking????????
i think the 9g has potential.

all i gotta say is that i am glad i bough another 8th Gen. i was nervous because of 2004 galant rumors but now after i have seen the car i feel much better. that fuckin car is gross. and mitsu was definately smokin crack while takin it in the ass from nissan when they developed this ride. horrible. i'm gonna fuck every one of them up when i see em on the road with my 8G. those headlights look like they belong on a daewoo. if i was going to buy a new ride in the mid class sedan range right now it would be the mazda 6. i'm out lata everybody

I dont think it looks too bad. They could've done a better job on the nose.
but overall it looks good. Hopefully they put better brakes and a more powerful engine in this one.

It looks way batter dropped. But its still needs work. Maybe that new Ralliart Galant i've heard about will be sweet?

Hoopcrazyt8
04-17-2003, 09:52 PM
personly i dont like the looks of the new galant man where the old grill man i like the grills we ahve on the 99 and 2000 models. the new galant looks just like MaX from Nissen.

Instead of copying that "Nissan" look, should've gone for the Mazda 6 look. That is one ugly look, but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. The Mazda 6 is nice, raced one today and beat it on 195 East.

Where are the pictures of the 2004 Galant's interior and tail-lights. I dont see any pictures of it on the site. What are you guys talking about???? :puzzled1:

GalantT3
04-18-2003, 03:18 AM
And also whats up with the Ralliart Galant?

When is that coming out and will it have the design of the 8G or the 9G Galant??????

I hope its the 8G

NJ G-sta
04-18-2003, 07:18 AM
hmm u see what American design is?? They just lazy enough to just copy over the Dodge Stratus body concept. What is this all about? It looks like a freak' Hyundai or something . Well may we just swap that V6 engine over onto 8g instead... Ahhhh there ya go another Mitsubishi disaster!!!! :x

Rasko Da Gama
04-18-2003, 08:52 AM
It's an ugly car - I surely don't like it... needs some major work in design.

Im sorry let me pay respects for the 7g and 8g right know. The best Mitsubishis every built. Now they done screwed the fuck out of the 9g. Im sorry but mits done screwed this one up. Just when they got something going good the shoot it down.. But anyway enough with my bitching now it something that all of us galant owners just got to get used to. Eventually it may grow on us and then again it might not. But im here to say this 888888888888888ggggggggggggggggg AAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL TTTTTTTTTHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEE WWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!11
8G ALL THE WAY!

I don't like it at all...well...everything but the engine has to go. I love the look of the 8g, it looks kinda BMW'sih. This 9g is looking...BLAH! :pukey:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(laxattack2001)</div><div class='quotemain'>i like the way the new diamante looks better</div>

Well, sorry but im not with you, I think the 2004 Diamante is the ugliest one in its history, is the same body with new front end and rear. All the rest is the same, even the engine. The new Galant will have the 3.8l engine, the diamante is keeping it 3.5. I think the diamante will dissappear from this one.... :?

Jesus your right the new Diamante is finished, nobody is buying that shit!!!

Mitsubishi is so fucking lazy take the exact same body and change the front and call it the 2004. They call that a complete re-design!!!!

Bye-Bye Diamante you wont me missed! https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

Has anybody read the text below the picture. The 04 galant is finally coming with a Manual Tranny!!!!! I agree with the front but lets all wait till we see it in person.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>, a Sportronic® automatic/manual transmission</div>

I think he means this part. A sportstronic is a automatic/manual. A sportstronic can drive like a automatic or be shifted like a manual transmission with having to work the clutch. Its almsot like manualing shifting in your automatic but with out the damage if any.

BGR
04-23-2003, 01:41 AM
Not a manual tranny but Sportronic.
