Just like the title states i'm looking for suggestions on replacement 4" speakers for the 8g. What speaker have some of you guys used?

All I can say is go with a light weight speaker, my friend replaced his with a speaker with a larger magnet and cracked his dash.

i remember it was a pain. not many options to go with due to how small the space between the air duct and grill for the speaker is...

i may actually have the other one left over from when i replaced mine. i went with infinity though it still needed modification to the air duct to fit but was the best sounding speaker i could find at the time and the thinnest

You would have to buy the pair, my best bet is infinity reference 3.5"

i have no idea if u guys are into it but pipeaudio sells a very thin speaker its used for vocals only n are pretty popular up in boston and the islands it might be thin enough to fit if u cut the hole bigger to fit...thats what i was planning anyway lol

I have Uninstalled and reinstalled my dash speakers alot due to rewiring but you can fit any good set of 4" two ways in the factory locations straight up swap two screws on passenger side two bolts on the driver side (assuming you have the dash pieces removed already). As I said I am running Memphis power reference 2-ways

Also these speakers I am willing to sell for $20 shipped as I plan to find something else

I need to replace mine as well, the crackling and popping is killing me!

Would these work? The top-mount depth is only 1 1/2"

^^Bbbbut I love how it fills the front with vocals. When I got my car, it was missing, and I swapped in a junkyard one, and the difference was very noticeable, I can't go back now, I JUST CAN"T!!!!!!!!!lol

@ Greg hey those are too small . The size your looking for is 4" and as far as mounting depth once. You get the old ones out you will see its empty dash behind them. Be sure not to get anything that pokes out from the mounting surface. It will interfere with the covers.

@Qnz they are relevant as far as audio balance they don't bass so the voice in the music will remain clear even with heavy bass

Yeah I seen what it looks like behind there, the one for my car was already removed when I bought it. I was thinking I'd be close with that tweeter poking up. I'll try to find a 4" but I can make that 3 1/2" work if I can't get anything else lol.

i didnt say they were irrelevant, i said its not needed :-p

but I know it fills in the sound, my 6g has 2 on the dash on each side then 2 in the doors and the rears

parts express has some quality speakers and best part some of the speakers they sell in singles so you can get a high quality speaker for the same price it would've cost you to buy two speakers

Were talking about the 8G infinity sound system, on the center of the dash there is one speaker, a center channel, it's a 3 inch speaker.

That infinity will be good enough. Perhaps you and the OP can go half on a set since you only need one.

If you have a aftermarket hu the amp has to run on four channels

It takes 4 channels and makes ex idk y but with a hu it Burns channels

As far as replacement speakers grab these $22 shipped (flat rate box)
