It shall begin I just sourced a 6bolt 4G63t to go with my 16g as the Pumper in my YardDog

I need to know how to mate the 6bolt to an automatic F4A23 in a 7G I have Seth's tutorial as my homepage.

I know with manuals you swap the clutch but for an automatic do I need a 6bolt torque converter from say a 6G

Lil history on my project

My sister brought her home in 2006 and I loved her. The taillights were perfect and the curves of the body we're sleek but stocky ...like me :-) I tried from that day to get the car from her.

Five years later the car was dead and I was asking to buy it again. .
I got it ....for $50

Her ASE certifed husband informed me she was dead and they we're putting her down . I begged. He said if I wanted the car that bad and I was that confident I could fix it I could have it for $50.

Two hours later I drove her to the junkyard got a few things flushed everything but the brakes and power steering. Being done now though. Threw the wheels on at the junkyard. Drove her 8 months and nearly 20k and her heart gave out right at 249k

So I pulled her heart out and tended to her daily putting in a 3g steering wheel and wiring up the 3g cruise control switch so I cold plastic this led voltmeter to monitor my voltage at any given time so an alternor will show its ass and I can see the load my audio is creating. I also want a B&M Newvolt and I have an idea I seen on some forum. To do with setting a boost in voltage at 3/4 boost. Anyway mods list followed by pics.

i think u would need a 6bolt flex plate

this is what i found to bolt a 2g/7g auto to a 6bolt

I was thinking 1991 Galant flex plate and torque converter

But as far as the ecu will it be okay with the tranny?

The GSX ecu is set for 5 speed F5M33 or F5M33 I have a F4A23

What about this dual ecu thing I've heard tell of one for engine
One for tranny?

Just finished reading link #2

I was considering the 3bolt flex plate my car was built with
Factory anticipating a difference . But then I thought if the 6g
Had an F4A then maybe if I swap in a 6 Bolt torque converter
With the 6bolt engine maybe the box shafts are the same

Why do you want auto?

master_visionary
04-18-2012, 09:23 PM
Cause my tranny still fine I held 115 in a long right hander off i29 and moneys too tight to do the swap but I have the engine available so tranny can come next I stumbled across a good buncha dsm guys and got some serious hook ups so ill go auto 6bolt 16g 2g ecu

mko

7g/2g have 2 ECUs - 1 for the engine and one for the tranny, And Im sure the connectors are somewhat the same between 2g and 7g transmissions. Just keep in mind that 7g auto trans are weak and they break anyway w/o having a turbo engine beside it.

2g ECU and rewiring is pretty hard job to do, so you might want to look into machining a Mirage distributor.

Oh no I got it I ain't got no money for all that and I can do the wiring .I'll have help from y'all and a few guys round here. I'll make sure its done right Remember I put the infinity amp from a sebring in my car. And except for amp placement ,looks factory down to the 6×9 wiring. I also know how to pull pins from connectors clean. I have this tiny flathead just for connectors.

And I know bout the tranny so I wont push her .....too hard :-) but I've done alot of SAFE spirited driving

Please if you wanna go fast have yourself somewhere you can go not racing in traffic

I have me the 3am straight 1 ½ miles straight, flat, no stop signs, no people . 107 ;-)

Sorry reminiscing, I can do the five speed swap with a few hundred so I know I can
Get that out of my current tranny. Save. Swap. Bless someone with scrap metal

Yeah I know when I do the 5 speed swap I'm going to seek an F5M33 or an awd tranny convert it to front wheel drive and use it so it will be in place already.

But my tranny has never been serviced has 248k and is still pulling at 110

Cody's right, since shes already down piece together a 5spd, With your yard skills you should be able to piece it together keeping the costs low.

this is the small 16g I recently aquired. the kid thought it was a stock 14b cause he pulled of out of his 91 talon . well he said it was "stock 91 TSi turbo I don't know what it is but it came out my car" . Bought the car and it was lagging assumed Turbo was blown . he got an eBay big 16 and injectors. gave me his old ones. I just knew they weren't dsm 450 so I did some research. 1992 Hyundai sonata 19lb/hr which is right around 200cc . Lag huh??? there's why.. anyway

broke it down and put it together to see how long it would take hooked it to my 2g manifold and o2 housing from the T25 (happens the o2 housing is bigger inside than the s16g OEM)

I still need the water and oil lines so if any one has them let me know

TD05 water and oil lines I know they're on eBay but I'd rather someone send me some cheap like $10 shipped

7Gb front bumper

6bolt torque converter and flex plate...if anyone has or knows anyone who is doing a 5speed swap on a six bolt I'm willing to pay $30 shipped it will fit in a big flat rate box and no one else is searching for these parts

Also need any ideas on using a 7G maf on a 1g intake

Someone asked me if it was about execution thisis why I say yes. hell I ain't even for a hose lol but my car will be well built and cleanly executed.

Also I hear there is a 6bolt 3 hole flex plate any one have access to one I could have extra cheap

yeah, get 8g MAF. Its 3'' round outlet, but the plug is different do youre gonna need a piggytail with it.

master_visionary
04-22-2012, 05:28 PM
Thanks mko I have one available at the yard is the piggytail wiring straightforward

mko
04-22-2012, 05:37 PM
You lay down the two plugs with the clips facing up and the wires go pin for pin - like pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin two......you know what i mean. Just be careful cuz there are empty pin on the plugs. Make sure you examine them before you rewire it.

Oh I used to run both plugs for a while back in the day, just in case some happened to the 8g MAS. I had the 7g plug taped so no water or dirt gets in there.

I got the engine

4G63t 6bolt with power steering pump

I have 2g turbo manifold, 1g fuel rail,, 1g fuel injector harness, 2g o2 housing, small 16g, 1g CAS, 1g side mount intercooler,

I will be replacing the main and rod bearings, pistons & rings, all upper and lower gaskets, maybe valves and seafoaming everything till its shiny and rebuilding my s16g

Need to locate a six bolt three hole flex plate so if anyone is at the yard look out for me from what I understand the are on non turbo 6bolt automatics such as the 6G Galant

Thanks y'all

mko
04-25-2012, 09:41 PM
you might wanna get 2g fuel rail to work with the 7g fuel pressure regulator. I mean it fit 1g rail too, but the bolt holes dont match. Ask me how i know.

mko

Advice taken ... and I know the fuel pump needs to be upgraded for this set up I need at least a walbro right
And I seen you have a small car lot could you please help me locate a 6bolt 3hole flex plate and bolts a

nd I need some injectors and all the little timing gears
-
I am doing the balance shaft elimination as well

mko
04-25-2012, 11:17 PM
dont have any automatics here. I just checked JNZ tuning and the timing gear set for 4g64 DOHC is 43 bucks. Fuel pump isnt really necessary for 8-10psi of boost. I ran my stock pump for some time.

master_visionary
04-26-2012, 12:13 AM
A 6bolt 4g63 is going in I need them for this engine

The mass of the setup will be 1g complete engine with a small 16g I was hoping to make at least 12-15 psi

And if I use WRX or FC RX7 injectors will I still need the transistor pack?

Galanttuner10
04-26-2012, 09:41 AM
i have stock 63 cam gears and 450 injectors from a 1g those would need the resistor pack. what little timing gears are you referencing?

do ACL bearings main and rod are 1oo. rings are gonna run around 160 cuz its 40 per piston, i would go with NPR rings. while youre in there what are you doing with the oil pump and water pump? also for the 6 bolt in the galant you are going to have to grind down the drivers side motor mount to clear the 6 bolt water pump also remove the front and reat brackets from the motor mounts as our mounts are on the tranny not the block.

i would have redone the stock 64, i could have hooked you up with an oil pump with 30k that i just put all new seals on and set up for the balance shaft delete and a water pump with 30k.

master_visionary
04-26-2012, 11:43 AM
It has cams and gears I need like the tensioner pulley .... basically all the cogs and whatnots brackets and an alternator. I just got the complete motor. The hardest parts for me to find are going to be the 6bolt three hole flexplate and 2g ecu

What's your Bottom dollar on those injectors??

I already have a 1g fuel injector harness complete to where it passes through the firewall and I replaced the broken and missing 1g injector clips with the nice ones from my 7g harness.

All seals are being done

master_visionary
04-27-2012, 11:28 AM
So I started working on the engine yesterday.....morning I checked it all out all the bearings are great have a handful of scratches from over 20 years this engine hasn't been beat up though the pistons have a little scarring the cylinders don't reflect the scarring. So the plan is new main and rod bearings, pistons & rings, balance shaft eliminator, and all new seals. I know the engine is dirty but I got a good engine and yesterday was day 1 day 2 will commence at the conclusion of this post.

Here's the block with my CAS in it and my16g in front of it

mko
04-27-2012, 12:27 PM
Seafoam will evaporate too quickly. I have this cleaner that makes everything brand new. I didnt even use power washer, just the garden hose. If you look in my build thread, the old head I just removed looked exactly the same as yours looks right now. The engine internals came out just like out of the factory, but IDK how to get it you.

So the dream is not dead yet .... critical condition, life support, sure but alive yet.here's where the project is at.

After towing the car three places and fighting with everyone about it I gave in and scrapped the shell afyer all that work cause to when you working on it at family house they just see a dead car (definitely not enthusiasts) tgey don't see the potential of he car or the mechanic but like I said. Life support not dead . So the cars gone "BuT" http://i1217.photobucket.com/albums/dd399/master_visionary/416784_3786111453583_453432770_n-1.jpg the engine isn't and honestly it has become therapeutic. So far I cleaned all the carbon off of the pistons, sourced a 1g mani , fabbed a heat shield, continued extensive elbow grease cleaning, finally found a 6bolt ofh, got injectors (dsm450s) ,started cleaning the ports etc I am determined to complete this but its restif again :(

The side mount issue is not that the bumper can't fit it its that the 7g has a ton of stuff over there in the way. You can fit a good sized front mount behind the 7gb bumper and I think you will find that way easier and better performance wise. Sorry you had to scrap the car man. I know the feeling. I barely have room. Good luck with it.
