Is there a list of body kits that don't require crash bar modifications? I'm searching that cyber 2 type body kits requires crash bar mods.. I'm trying to avoid these body kits...Are JDM pretty much safe? List your body kit and reply back:

Company brand/Body kit type/Crash bar mod (yes or no)

For the JDM bumper covers, you need to only cut off a small portion of the crash bar. You do not need to remove it. Removing the crash bar is idiotic and dangerous. The crash bar is what makes your car safe, not the bumper covers.

As far as body kits like the cyber 2, not alot of members here have them. So you might have a hard time getting a response from someone with a cyber 2.

all JDM version front bumpers (OE and aftermarket) will require at least a little crash bar modification depending on which one u choose, some requiring more than others. there are, or at least were, some kits that were modified to be USDM version to fit with the USDM crash bar and USDM headlights (and in some cases USDM grill)... not sure if the companies that made those kits are even still around though. most of the body kits available now are cpoies of JDM kits for example, the shogun (aka cyber 1) is a copy of a kit by CRUX; the cyber 2 is a copy of a kit by INITIAL V... both were originally made for a JDM crash bar with JDM headlights on a JDM 8G.

was able to get cyber2 on with slight modification.. just cut the side off at an angle along with cutting parts of the scoops on the bumper itself..

Do i just fully cut the gaps to totally remove the left and right sides and it should fit on a cyber2 bumper? Would I need to make the bar thinner at the bottom?

ok for the ends you do that for both sides at an angle once you have the ends cut off then you will see the inside its like like two chambers one for the top and one for the bottom, you just need to cut the bottom chambers i made a line length wise and on the bottom i just took out about 1/2 inch or inch so i basically cut out a L shaped piece, but this depends on what bumper you are doing, if you are doing the JDM you need that bottom space to be cut so the top of the grill back part can fit there.

What do you use to cut the bottom, a plasma cutter?.... I could Dremel the sides with no problems..

i tried a dremel before and it took to long for the sides i used a sawzall, but when I installed my current bumper i had to a angle grinder for the long part, you should be able to use a ginder, sawzall would be hard when doing the long cut unless you can make sure the tip of the blade wont touch the other side and break on you.

i used a rotozip w/ cutting wheel/angle grinder attachment that i originally bought to do my JDM headlight conversion.

Looking it from the back, standing straight up, which bottom do i need to cut? Cause i could cut the wrong bottom .... The crash bar slides in one way right?

ok you're over thinking this, just cut the sides like i mention then put the crash bar back on your car and test fit the bumper with those two cuts if it still does not fix you will see where the bumper is touching the crash bar and most like you will not need to to that but if you do then it should click with you on what needs to be cut.
