anyone know when i replace my camshaft sesnor and cranchaft sensor on my 8g even when i erase the code from my car it returns do i have to get it flashed at the dealer?

are you getting it cleared with the ODBII reader? if so and it comes back then it seems that there is something else wrong. I also have the same issue and planning to take it to the dealer to check it out.

I took mine to the dealer they told me the motor was swapped and that's why its on but let me know what they tell u

what engine did you have and whats in there now. There's plenty of swapped 8g's here with out the cel.

If you getting a Crank and cam shaft sensor CEL that means the reluctor wheel needs to be swap. I believe the 99-00 reluctor wheel is different from 01-03. I mean the computer reads different values. If you have a 02 computer and you get a 99 engine the you will get CEL.

mine is an 03 galant but the dealer said its a diff engine and is it normal to get jerking at higher speeds like70 + the engine i have has yellow injectors thats the only yhing i can see that might hint what year it is

They all yellow color. The easy way is by the valve cover. The pcv tube. 99-01 is plastic. The 02-03 is built in to the valve cover making it one piece.

Then from the sounds of it you need the correct reluctor for your ecu to read right.

no, you need your 02-03 reluctor since your PCM is a 03.

Will this part being wrong cause the car to hesitate at higher speeds tough since that's my biggest concern

Well since your ecu can't read the cams actual position.

Think of it as getting lost do you hesitate before you turn onto or off a road.

You could actually cause knock if you keep driving. You could end up messing up your piston due to pre-detonation.

Yes, the car is an 01, with the EVO Rom flashed on the stock ecu, so I had to swap to an 03 eclipse reluctor since its the same as the EVO, and It got rid of the cam and crank cel,

The reluctors are the same
Threw the yrs

Galant 99-00/ eclipse 00-02
Galant 01-02/ eclipse 03-05

It's pretty much when the body style changes and different electrical system.

Best bet. Go to the dealer. Give them your vin number so u could get the right part.
