dont cut the springs. stock shocks arent made for it and the spring rate gets ruined leading to a horrible ride which has less control. please save up for legit springs and some nice shocks like KYB or Tokico

Lowering springs are pretty cheap. I don't think they go over 200 for our cars. Don't cut your springs, it's a shitty ass ride. My buddy bought a Honda with chopped springs and it looks stupid and it's bouncy as hell.

I cut out a coil and a half about a year ago. It's not bad. But go with springs and strut set up

You can tell when a cars springs have been cut. They have this idiotic bounce that makes the car look cheap. Don't do it, it's not safe.

back in the day i cut off a coil of my eibach sportlines in the front and had no negative effect, i got the drop i was looking for and was happy. i would never do it to a set of stock springs though, theyll get all bouncy and youll look silly, the spring rates are different between stock and aftermarket drop springs so thats why i got away with it.

but as someone mentioned above drop springs can be had for $200 and under then add a set of struts on to that and youll be set.

in about 3 months im stripping the car down to bare chassis and doing awd and repaint etc. so im just looking to get rip of some of that ugly gap in the front fender without having a horrible ride . and save a lil money because im gonna go with coil overs in the near future, thanx for all the input tho

If you are going to do coilovers don't waste your time/money on springs now. Save your money and hold out for the coilovers...dont cut any corners to get quick results

If you're getting coilovers soon, why cut your springs? Just wait it out.

I had my car nearly a full year before I modded it in any way.

if ur gonna do all that in 3 months and get coilovers, then why mess with the springs right now? you are talking about about 10 thousand dollars in mods and you want to save a few bucks by cutting your springs? that makes no sense. if u really are going to mod the car right, just lower it when you can afford quality parts.

i dont know about "dangerous" sounds a lil extreme, maybe silly when your seen bouncing down the road but with new struts should eliminate that for a while but the new struts will take a beating. if you dont mind it then do it up.
