I recently purchased a 2003 Galant GTZ V6 and am interested in doing some modifications. What are some simple modifications can I do to boost up internal performance. Like add some needed horsepower, or some other ideas to give the car a more sporty appeal.

all advice would be helpful. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

And does anyone know of the differences between the 2002 and the 2003. The dealer wasnt very helpful with information since they had just recently took delivery on some 2003 stock.

03's are out...? damn... i didn't know they were coming out already...

post some pics for us...

for performance, you can add an AEM intake, a custom catback exhaust, and headers... the headers will give you the biggest HP jump... if properly tuned, you can expect up to 30-35 hp from them...

http://www.cynikal.net/~justin/car/ ('http://www.cynikal.net/~justin/car/') has some pictures of my car. According to the sticker in the window and my manuals my car is a 2003. If my dealer fucked me I will go there and be cause a ruckus.

But there are pictures of my ride.

Looks just a BIT different to me. The grill looks a bit more rounded off. Like a 25% 02 75% 04 mix.

You messed up on your link, you mispelled Justin. Try this - http://www.cynikal.net/~justin/car ('http://www.cynikal.net/~justin/car')

If the 2003's are out, then they would be exactly like the 2002's. The 2004 will be a completely new design.

I noticed that you don't have the "Mitsubishi" lettering on your trunk lid. Did you take it off or did it come without it? I know Mitsubishi was talking about getting rid of their name on the car and just haveing the triple diamond symbol, so I guess they started it with the 2003's?

as you see it in the pictures, is how it was purchased.

They are redesiging for next year? MAN.. I always get shafted! Got shafted on the 2001 Altima, now the 2003 Galant! hehe

oh well.

So what do people recommend for modification.

So far I have considered changing the stock cd player and putting in something better and putting in a sub/amp.

I will also be tinting the windows. I have also thought about the rims..

But need more advice past that.

Well if you're into looks (like I am) your first 2 purchases should be some new springs and new wheels. For springs I reccomend the Eibach Pro-Kit. They don't drop your car too much but still give you that nice aggresive look. Rims you must go 17's or bigger. If you can afford them get 18's or 19's. If you're more into performance you can start off with a CAI, new headers, and a new exhaust.

Are they the stock rims on that car? Man they look great if they're not just wheel covers. I can't tell from the pic exactly but they sure look like wheels. They look actually as good if not better than the stock GTZ wheels. If it were me, I wouldn't replace them. Nice looking ride Dreidel. We're all here to help you out. Well most of us, anyway...
