compatible issues

i have a 00 galalnt 2.4 auto tranny i put a 03 auto tranny in thinking it was the same but i get a engine light on and 1st to 2nd gear shift is rough and my spedo is not working can anyone tell me how to fix this or what i need to change.

99 and 00 are the only ones you can mate. Anything past 00 I believe cannot be used.
