My car is having trouble staying on and after inspecting the throttle body and intake manifold i discover there is a small metal cork like piece that is the culprate. I don't know what this thing is but it needs to be screwd back in and held in with a super small screw. Does anyone know what this piece is or even know what I'm talking about?

Cork-like?

Sounds like the idle speed screw, should'nt be touched, picture would help of what it looks like.

Is this what you're talking about? I took these pictures awhile ago for another reason but is the "metal cork" hole you're talking about with the screwdriver sticking out?

Yep that's exactly what I was talking about. I think I many need a new one or just the small screw that holds it in.

The next time I'm at the junk yard I can get you the screw but I'm not sure when I'm going again but I will let you know when I do, maybe next week.

what is that thing called? popped out of my 8g a while ago I just put it back in with a generic machine screw but I think it is causing my car to drop too low after revving at idle.
