Trnny swap

Well, my tranny's been giving me isht lately so I'm pretty sure I blew it up. I'm going to have to change it but I have a manual so it's kinda hard to locate a replacement and they're kinda crappy anyways. So my question, what else can I put in it? I've heard that a 2G Eclipse tranny will bolt in but I'm sure. Help me out...

For all intents and purposes, 2g Eclipse tranny (FWD turbo that is) = 7g Galant tranny. They're almost identical. You're not going to have anymore luck finding a GST tranny than a Galant tranny though. Given their rarity.
