2008 Lancer ES to lancer GT look

I bought the lancer as a "flip car" and for the fun of redoing one lol. I was browsing craiglist and some guy was selling one with 128k miles for 3500. I drove an hour away and found it had minor dings and dents and a broken bumper cover. I ended up talking the guy down to 2500.
If it were manual, I would make this the daily and get rid of the daily galant.

Of course the ES isn't appealing to me and looks like the base model. I decided I wanted to make it look more like the GTS, then found a sweet deal on a GT kit (ralliart looking bumper, side skirts, projector fogs w/ housings, chrome grille). This way I traded off the cost of the GTS lip spoilers, fogs, replacement bumper.

I was really going to keep it or give it to the gf, but the CVT is killing the deal. Remember our galants do not come manual, so the fact that these lancer do... Makes me want to just keep it moving until a DE or 5spd gts comes along. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to get a ralliart sub 10k lol. You guys would internet snipe me for that deal.

Greg, I picked it up 4 days after MOD. I was trying to buy an evo before mod but some places were way too high when it came down to payments. After mod I stopped in and worked out a great deal.

Keith, my 2012 GT was a CVT. For a daily it's great because it's always trying to get the best gas mileage but for me as a car enthusiast it didn't cuz it for me even tho I had the paddle shifters too.

I had the CVT trans, it sounds like a broken auto lol. You guys will be happy to know the daily galant 2.4L auto (300k miles) was nose to nose with this from a dig haha. Had to race em on the way home.

lol you can! It's all about mixing right and spraying even coats throughout. Every day I mix, I get all nervous about screwing it up, but it's just art.

Still have to wire up the fog lights and get a switch, get those gts wheels in there with a new set of tires. Debating a rear camera for the bumper insert.

Lol, thanks man, If you prepped I would paint xD.

Ask away, I don't mind at all! It's not as difficult as it is a pain in the ass prep for and fix mistakes. I had about 4 runs in this paint job; As I fix I used metal tape on the paint a week later around the run, and sanded with 400 grit until the sand marks were running into the paint around it.
When you spray the color you don't want to go too heavy because the clear re-activates the paint resulting in a very thick "one coat" essentially. Keep that in mind and you should be fine, It's an art really lol.

It runs great, engine sounds very strong. brakes are amazing "put you through the windshield" worthy, auto trans is still bleh lol, wheels + tires are top notch, new GTS suspension makes it feel like a new car, paint has 0 scratches + mirror finish, and body has 0 dents. I would keep it if it were manual trans.

I think he bought it to flip it, make some money. Therefore I doubt he's going to put a new exhaust on it.

It's true, no exhaust mods since I'm just selling. I have the factory fog lights to wire up and an Ad to make =) The rest of the car is flawless! I've fixed any other bug that has come up or was pre-existing.
