2002 galant 3.0 v6 dies when warm.

so I bought my 2002 galant a couple weeks ago. it had a check engine light for the cam position sensor. So i replaced the distributor and the code went away.

When I drive the car it dies when I come to a stop. no codes come up. It only does it when the car is in drive or reverse.

Any ideas ?? i am kinda lost with this one.

Did you disconnect the batt for an extended period of time if so then the comp needs to relearn idle
also did you replace the whole distributor or just the cap and rotor?

I replaced the whole thing. The need to be replaced. So when I start it I jump it with a jump pack. I did let it idle for quite some time and it still has the same issue.
