What is that part actually called and the real question I'm looking for is what kind of sealant is used. Silicone? Oring?

I need to seal it.

That's the water feed from the radiator, and the outlet below the throttle body and above the transmission is the return once the thermostat opens to allow the cycle to start. Originally it may have a paper gasket, I know felpro makes one too, usually parts stores like autozone or napa don't stock them but can order for like 2 or 3 bucks. I don't bother with the gasket and never have on either outlet (thermostat has its own seal), I usually use gray silicone, a nice even coat does the job.

I knew what It did but when I pulled it off the seal just fell apart but it looked as if it was a perfect circle, something silicone wouldn't do when applied. I figured there had to be an official gasket or something for it but finding it is hard. I just bought some silicone but really wanted to know because I get irritated not knowing stuff lol.

Thanks, another reason why I love this forum is because of peeps like both of you. 👍

RTV silicone is quite commonly used instead of paper gaskets for valve covers, water outlets, thermostats, etc....
