Hello guys, it's been a while since I've visited thegalantcenter.org

I have an overheating problem in my 8g ..recently hit 200k miles. I've been having an overheating going on for some months now. I've changed the radiator, upper hose, flush & fill. Someting i've noticed, is that one of the fans doesn't turn all the time. I noticed it this past sunday. Here's a pic of the fans.

The one that I marked is the one that doesn't turn, sometimes. The 1st time I noticed this, I tapped the fan with a pen & it started spinning. The other fan however is fine, no problems whatsoever. This problem happens when I turn on the A/C or when the car reaches it's normal operating temperature. But other times it turns on like normal.

Here's a pic of normal temp

I want to say I should change the fan or both ..because the car has been getting hot to this point:

The gauge slow will rise when I'm at a stop light ..& at times will go down when driving. Has anyone had this issue with their Galant. Some help plz :D some tips ..should I change one or both fans

The vehicle will have temperature variance when idling versus when driving, that is normal. If you are noticing issues when the A/C is on, my question would be: Does the A/C blow cold or warm? If warm, the whole problem may be because your A/C needs (at minimum) to be recharged, if not more. If cold, then it may be a fan relay/resistor that fails when warm/at operating temperature.

I'm noticing issues when the a/c is turned on & when off. The a/c blows normal ..cold with cold settings & warm with warm settings

Then it sounds like an issue relating to the fans themselves to me. I would suggest replacing both fans.
