Dose a 2001 3.0 v6 Gallant have a camshaft position sensor? My car is throwing up that code and a crankshaft sensor.. or can anybody tell me what going on. My car is not idleing , and is jumping like shaking the whole car... We have put new plugs and wires on it and new valve cover gaskets. Please help..

I do not know the exact code I just know it says camshaft position senson and a crankshaft positioning sensor. We have a guy who works on our cars like a home mobile mechanic, and he put his code scanner on it and that's what it is pulling up. And I just replaced the distributor not that long ago. But would any of them sensors cause my car to like idle to high then or to low or skip? And also throws random misfire code.

That's possible but the odds of both crank and cam sensors going bad at once isn't very likely.

I have so far replaced the cranks shaft position sensor, the timeing belt, plugs and plugs wires, the water pump, distributor, all new gaskets, cleaned the egr valve, and the car is still skipping, still isnt idleing, and does the computers have to reset itself before it will start running right, and or idle right?

No computer doesn't have to reset itself. What do u mean by skipping?? Misfiring?? Hesitating?? Sputtering??

Check your timing belt and make sure it's properly aligned. That's would trigger both cam positions and crankshaft position sensors if the timing is off.

We just replaced it and re timed it, and its in time. But now it's making a like metal to metal sound . And not wanting to run good, it is like screaming that metal to metal noise... Could it be a tensioner?

Metal to metal as in slapping metal on metal??

Could be a pulley too

As in metal grinding on metal.

^^^ A clogged cat will definitely do that.

Sure can. My brother burnt a Ford Fiesta to the ground as a result of a clogged cat. Can I say bad words like "Ford" on this site?
