I just recently had a frind of mine install HID on my car. The bulbs were not H4 so we had to do some mods. I was wondering what is the best way to adjust your headlights? I need tips. I know the driver side is supposed to be a little lower then the passanger but how else can I go on about adjusting them so I get the right beam coming out of the headlight?

i know the pics are kinda weird but if you look around your headlight where the pic is... it is a gray or silver circle with ridges....

I've don the adjusting already but what I wanted to know if there is supposed to be a specific pattern of light comming out form the headlight. is ther a way to adjust it sideways besides the up and down?

i gues if you actually move the headlight out of place... but i would talk to other members bout that..

If i'm not mistaken, the 'pattern' comes from the distance of the filament in the bulb to the reflective surface behind it. Meaning, if your new bulb is longer or shorter than the stock bulb then this horizontal distance will be different, causing a different pattern. That's why it's a good idea to stick with HID kits that replace the same size bulb as the stock - they're made so that the length is the same as stock, so that pattern shouldnt' change. I'm guessing that if the bulb is longer than the stock you could bring it back to stock distance by adding 'washers' of some sort to the bulb housing so that it sits further back.

Thx, I'll try that I have to see if they are close in size or not.

The galant service manual has a fairly comprehensive section on headlight aiming.

how much did the HID kit cost you?

I got them from a friend. His father crashed the maxima so he sold me the stuff for dirt cheap and I couldn't pass it up.

that's a great idea. Junkyard treasures. I'll have to hit my local junkyard up for parts, asuming they aren't melted or in 1000 pieces
