Gentlemen,

A long time member, TGC forum owner, Galant enthusiast, and friend, is not in good health. Some of you guys may know that VegasMatt has been battling stage 4 colon cancer since December 2013. Recently his wife posted that he is not doing well and was brought home from the hospital to spend his last days with his family.

This thread is for us to share stories, pictures, meets, and happy memories of Matt Clason.

Sad to hear. If it wasn't for Matt, TGC may not be here today. My prayers are with his family!

Never exchanged words with the guy...but in a way he's ultimately responsible for joy my car brings me by being the founder of tgc. With that being said Thanks Matt, you're in my prayers!

Matt is a great guy I had the pleasure of meeting at West Coast MOD 2009. He bought pizzas for all of us because the In 'N Out truck's line was a mile long and we were all starving. He also said that sold me my first set of JDM headlights at a great price. Sad to hear about this, my prayers go out to him and his family.

VegasMatt wasn't the first one to answer my question, a couple of years back; but he was the first to get me the right information I needed.
Matt, I'm praying for your family. I hope your soul is as filled with the love of God as your goodness displays!
God's richest blessings to you, Sir! :059:

Was about to post the same thing for all the OG's left here. Matt has always been a strong advocate for TGC and he saved TGC from going into the abyss when this forum was struggling. This guy knew how to keep a positive out look on life and I for one am grateful for the words of advice he always had for me. We have lost quite a few members from this board but this one hurts the most.

I talked to Matt from time to time on FB. He always answered my questions. Made me a mod on TGC.

He was fair to the members when it would have been easier to just ban them.

TGC would not have been around if it was not for him during the dark years.

RIP dude.

So sad to read this. I never had the pleasure of knowing Matt outside of the forums. All I know is that he was a stand up guy that kept this community alive. I always admired his automotive expressions. Rest well. I'm glad that you no longer suffer.

I never directly exchanged words with Matt in my limited engagements here since 2008, but his influence is obvious in many regards to this website and the culture it has inspired. May his journey through the next life be easy and full of joy. I hope his shepherd is a LHD 8g Super vr4 with all the aftermarket bells and whistles.

I see all the RIP wishes, but didn't notice a post confirming his death. (I may have just missed the post.) Given his prognosis, I know there would not have been much time left, but I have seen cases where advanced stage cancers have been defeated. Any updates about him?

just saw this. i had the pleasure to meet and hang out with matt over the years. we always made each other laugh. he will be greatly missed.

for those of you who don't know VEGASSMATT (KING MATTRESS), he was one of the early members of the yahoo group founded by BGR in 1999-2000 that became TGC. at one point he took over as head honcho when BGR had to step away for life reasons. matt was one of the most respected members of our community and was a great person as well. RIP bro.

Also still have my ride but it's been sitting for years. Just had back surgery and hopefully will attend mod this year.

WOW! I just went to the link above and thumbed through all of Matt's pictures. I always try to portray myself as a tough individual, however I damn neared teared up. Especially now that I'm a father to a little girl. I've NEVER met Matt before, but I can see the passion and love he had (HAS) for his family and daughter. May he rest in glory! The pain and suffering has stopped, and on to a new chapter my friend.

Anyone here still keep in contact with his family? At least to set up maybe bbqs or whatever just to let them know they are not forgotten just due to Matt's passing?

Just seen this, been years since I been in here.. but remember all the way back on the yahoo board that he was always helpful and had a passion for his car that we all shared in. Never met him in person but felt a brotherhood in the passion of our G's.
