I got a 2002 mitsubishi lancer when i start the car the rpms start at 2000 to 2500 and it stays there in neutral so i put it in first gear and still stays there but when i go in first gear it jerks but after i shift from first it runs fine but it stays at 2500 rpms. Can anyone help but when i turn the ac the rpms go up more and then goes down to normal then goes back to 2500

It sounds like it could be a vacuum leak. There should be some videos on YouTube to help. I'm not too familiar with a lancer though so I'm not sure where to tell you to start looking for the vacuum leak.
