I have a 03' Galant 2.4L, 230k miles.

Temp Gauge in-dash has not worked since I bought the car 10k miles ago.

Earlier this week I bought an ELM327 Bluetooth OBD 2 Scanner off Ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251488093341?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Scanner arrived today, I plugged it into my Galant and installed a Car Scanner program onto my Smartphone to read the info from the Scanner mentioned above
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/car-scanner-elm-obd2/9nblggh5lpx9

According to the Scanner Program my Coolant Temp ranges from 204.8 to 208.4(F) at a constant 60mph on the Highway in 50(F) Weather
at Idle in 50(F) Weather Coolant Temp is 212 to 216(F)

Are those Temperature Ranges Acceptable ?
What Temps are 'Normal' ?

Thanks in Advance

P.S I do not know what Temp of Thermostat is installed in the car.

BTW Both the Scanner off of Ebay & the Scanner Program operate beautifully, $22 well spent

My temps at 60mph are usually 197-203. At idle it's 212 before the fan kicks in and drops it to about 203. During all of this my gauge does not go above half.

Thanks for the Reply tamim13, looks like my Temps are in-the-ballpark then.
I plan to do a coolant flush which may drop my temps a bit.

Thanks

When I delivered pizza in my G I had to replace the thermostat twice. Something about the rigors of pizza delivery and cheap aftermarket thermostat quality. Make sure you keep a good 70/30 antifreeze mix in the car, that'll help a lot with temps. I always ran my air during the warmer months, and that increases temperatures due to the increased load at idle. Install an aftermarket temperature gauge and keep a close eye on the temperature, tips go down if you're late because you overheat. ;)
