I have a problem

Today driving to work i heard a loud thumping noise coming from my rear ... so i thought i had a flat ... but no there was no flat. Didnt see anything wrong so i got back in and continued to drive when i had the car up to around 40 - 45 it would begin to vibrate and the thumping would increase ... in away i thought i heard metal rubbing but not sure hard to tell

First thing I'd check are the bearings. raise the rear and see if the wheel and the hub are on tightly.

The next thing to check is the bushing where the knuckle meets with the upper control arm (right abobe the wheel).

The next thing is ofcourse the rest of the suspension components in the rear. Could also be brakes, I wish you described the problem more clearly.

thanks man for the advice but i figured it out
back when i blew two of my rims when i changed the tires i used the lug nuts from my rims on the stock wheels well they began to come loose and that was the noise lucky i found out i tightened them back up but i will put my stock lug nuts on tomorrow :oops:
