I noticed that most of you concentrate on only two brands, AEM and Injen...but has anyone really considered K&N? They provide a dyno sheet, pictures of the actual kit, and install instructions for the actual kit all on their website. Their Eclipse went from 156 whp to 163 whp...I forget what AEM's results were, and I've never seen an official dyno from Injen.

ROFL...sorry for blowing your cover, cowboy. Hey guys, I was just kidding, K&N doesn't make anything for Mitsubishi vehicles...it was all just a big fat hoax!

Also because the K&N's are pretty pricey at $260 for the CAI. They are reliable, just pricey. So is the AEM-V2.

Yeah but AEM told us the V2 will not work for our cars so they won't be producing it...the 260 bucks still makes me squirm though...all that for a piece of pipe and a filter

just remember, the k&n from the last time i checks was a no frills intake. it only comes in one color, black. and more inportantly, from the last time i checked, it was a 1 piece pipe, with the MAS located at the end of the pipe. so for those with lowered cars and who live in places that flood easily or rains where u can drive thru puddles, hydrolock might be an issue so be careful.

You haven't checked recently enough https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif K&N makes an OEM replacement filter, a AirCharger kit (not 50 state emissions legal), and the Typhoon kit which comes in blue, red, silver, and polished which is 50 state legal. In the install instructions, it looks almost exactly like the AEM and Injen intake, and tells you how to convert it to a short ram (the AEM instructions for some reason neglect this and just assume you're smart enough to do so with high water).

Well,..I was wondering the same thing myself. I had a 2Gen Injen CAI and it was a V6 Intake no fitment problems. Now this is a K&N so I am not to sure but The way it looks throws you off. I think it might be that other bracket throwing us off but its mounted differently. Take a look at the install instructions it will explain everything. I am pretty sure it willl fit, It will be a little while till I get a Intake so by then hopefully the I-4 Intake will be ready.

Thanks for updating Allan, Arnulfo. You beat me to it. The K&N is still pricey at $300 but it does come in colors now (red, blue and silver, Allan). It also fits the V6 Eclipse, so there shouldn't be a fitment problem. It's just that it's almost $300. That's pricey. Let's see what I have left after I replace my muffler. I'm expecting my cash to take a significant hit for that one.
