Just wondering...is there any real purpose behind wheel balancing? All I've seen so far is that it keeps the steering wheel vibrations to a minimum...it doesn't actually contribute anything to say, performance or prolonging the life of any parts. Anyone care to enlighten me?

If you have unbalanced tires it will do lots of stuff over time, but will also prematurely ruin your tires by making them wear out of round, making them not circular - that's bad.

Also don't worry if your temp needle keeps pinning on the right - the needle won't wear out!

I learned about balancing about 2 or 3 weeks ago
I put my 18s on and tightened with body weight with a 4 way lug wrench
and about a month, maybe not even later 1 of the lugs was on by a thread.
I was told that that happened a) cause they should be retightened after like 50 miles
and https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif cause they had to be rebalanced..

the best way is to torque the lug nuts. body tight is going to be different with each lug nut because the angle you will be at for each one of them. torque and forget..... or be safe and retorque every week when you check tire pressure. thats what the wise man told me years ago...

The torque settings is 80 ft/lbs for Mitusbishi cars.
