New shift knob install???

ok guys i got a new shift knob and was wondering after u take off the stock one, does the plastic piece need to be cut down in order to make the new one fit on...casue it needs to slide down more so i can screw it in the oem holes??

if the shifter is a side button, you need the triangle. if its a top button, you need to cut it off.

its a top button, so i can cut it and it will beable to work

cut about 1/6 of a inch above where the knotch narrows on the shaft. if thats not enough keep cutting little by little till u have it. cutting to little is ok cuz u can cut more but cutting to much is a :oops:
