A few years ago I heard the 98 has a better transmission chip (better programmed) then the 97 and older 7g's. For better shifting ponts etc. Is this true? I've searched on the forum but didn't find anything?

Manybrews is right. 94-98 Galants all share the same TCU if you have auto. They have something though called "Fuzzy Logic" which basically is the TCU learns your driving habits. You could make your TCU relearn by just disconnecting your battery for a good 10 mins and put it back on. Correct me if I am wrong Manybrews

its supposed to shift more agressive if u train it right, like shift at higher rpms or what not. dont know if its true but its what ive been told, I tried it, but did not notice any differences

Thanks for the clearfication. Just to think a couple years ago, I was going to see if I can purchase an 98 tcu from the junk yard. Good thing I didn't.

No that wasn't me. Unless it was in Sacramento 2 weeks ago. I broke my u-joint at the line when I launched the Z. Was there another 240Z sporting 18" wheels?
