Just ordered my new AMSS headers. TJC was talking last year about his install and it sounds more involved than I thought.

Think it will be complicated to do myself? I'm pretty good under the hood, but have never dug this deep. Hope I won't have to take of the plenum to get to the rears. If so, does anyone know a good install shop in San Diego who won't charge for another complete header set just for the install?

if u think you're up to it, i say go ahead, crawl under the car and get going. make sure you have all the tools u need etc, maybe even a buddy to help you out.

just remember installing the headers is only half of the job, you gotta take the old stuff out first.

Yes, you will likely have to remove the plenum to get to the bolts on the rear bank of headers. You may also have some fitment issues around the lower control arm on the passenger side. You're also going to have to do some serious cutting to remove your cat from the midpipe. Finally you may have to weld a flange onto the cat to mate it to the headers depending on how the headers are manufactured. I wouldn't try it without a lift and a MIG welder. It took my mechanic about 4.5 hours to do my RPW headers and he's a professional race car builder.
