Hey guys, I had ideas about customizing my whole trunk. i have it drawn out to what i'd like, was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what materials to use. Im creating it for my audio system. 2 amps, making the box for 2 subs.

also, so I dont make a bunch of threads, i read a couple of posts on these but still wasn't quite sure. If you have an auto shifter with the button on the left, can you still use a new shifter that has the button on the top? If so, how. Thanks!

Jae

as far as the shifter goes, yes, you can use one of the aftermarket shifters with the button on top. BTW, welcome to the site

to add to that, make sure you get an aftermarket shifter thats made for nissan/toyota/mitsubishi all those will work. Acura/honda are a big no no cause the screws are at a different angle.

for the subs, I'd go with 3/4in. plywood or particle board. if you wanna go lightweight, then use balsa wood. ha N/R https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif . if you go with particle board, depending on how goos a job you do, you might just be agle to paint the actual wood. if you go with plywood, you definately want to cover that bitch with some carpet. prolly homedepot, walmart or pepboys/autozone. i hope this helps to answer some of the questions you were having.

here's a suggestion. build everything up in something cheap. like carboard and see how you like it and how it fits. if your happy with it. break out the real materials like MDF fiberglass whatever adn the carboard will help you out too cuz its kinda like a template.

thanks guys. very helpful n_n. It doesn't hurt to double check, so would this shifter work? http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/RACTK177SC ('http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/RACTK177SC') How would you go about putting it on, something about cutting down a triangle piece right? I haven't taken off the shifter yet, so I dont kow what it looks like yet. And yes, I will post pics of the trunk.

ya that shifter will work.

you unscrew the shifter and you'll see there's a white plastic triangle piece.

you just cut the tip of that triangle flat so your new shifter will sit on there with the button pressed up right against the white piece.

screw it down, press to test. trim piece if necessary. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif
