Why is so many EVO hood black????

SO i have seen many 8g galants with black evo hood, why is it black?
wouldn't it be better if it was body colored?(just in my mind)

Alot of the people I know use Carbon Fiber hoods for the look as well as the lighter weight than an actual stock hood. They are unbelieveably light but such a B*TCH! to keep looking good if you live in a neighborhood/city full of retards who love to key cars or toss soda's on cars.

Yeah the OEM hood weighs in at 52lbs and the VIS is 24.5lbs. Big weight reduction. Besides they look good. 8)

Wow I never had a chance to weigh the OEM hood before...good God that's heavy. My recruiter could still lift it with one arm though...scary guy https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif Right now my neighbor is having an aluminum fabricator work with trying to stamp an OEM hood out of aluminum...he's gonna see how it works out. I think it's gonna be dang near impossible...machining for such work has got to be expensive, but he says they're friends so what I can do right :? If it works, hey at least it's lighter and stronger than OEM, and has none of the drawbacks that a CF hood has.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for, if they manage to pull this one off maybe they could supply aftermarket to the 8g folks. But personally...I think he's doomed to fail.
