Those prices are crazy, but I guess its worth it with the theft protection chip that in them. Still 80 bucks is high to me

i was reading an older thread this one to be exact http://www.clubtgc.org/forum/viewtopic.php...%20keys&start=0 ('http://www.clubtgc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1426&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=program%20programme%20keys&start=0') and it has exerts from the service manual on how to reprogram your keys. but yea in the instructions it says that they just don't reprogram that one new key but all your keys since once u reprogram that new key, all the previous keys need to to repgrogramed also or they won't work.

I saw an ad in chinatown sayin they can dupe keys for all japanese cars that has computer stuff in it. I think it would be cheaper there https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif I'm going to call.

Ninety three bucks and change at my local dealership for a new master key
(programming included).

And be sure to give them ALL the keys including the valet key.
I asked the service rep TWICE if he needed the valet key and
he said no just the original master key..

The theft immobilizer system works real good when it doesn't
recognize the key you're using to start the car.

Yeah I asked the Bay Ridge dealer and they will charge me 48 for cutting the key and 39.5 for programming it. Thats really gay https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif

However, I don't know how good the theft immobilizer system works. Does it really prevent people from stealing your car? Does the trick ppl do in the movies (u know those fancy wire work) still allow people to start the car illegally ?

I had to get this done also since i bought my car with only 1 key. The dealer was pretty cheap, it was somewhere around $50-80

Well, it's not going to stop someone with a towtruck but since the ECU cuts off the fuel pump
if it doesn't recognize the key at least they're not going to drive off in your car without the
right key. It should stop anyone but the repo guys and the pros.
