I've got a 2000 ES I4 and I seem to get pretty bad gas mileage. I get about 20 mph. I drive 50/50 highway/city. I'm not constatly on the gas either. The engine runs nice and smooth. I just changed the air filter. Haven't found the fuel filter yet. Is this normal. Do our cars get really bad gas mileage. It's a 4 banger for crist sake. Thanks for the help guys.

More HP takes more gas. The more mods you do, the more it will burn.
I noticed a hit, like -3Mpg, just from the intake, saw another -2 with the exhaust. I think I'm at about 17 city now

yea. my intake kills my gas. i take the time to like let the car sit there for a lil bit and let it warm up before i take it out to drive. that helps my mileage out a bit.

Yup - I always wait till at least the AF meter starts bouncin, that way I know the car is in closed loop and the o2 is heated up.

Hey guys thanks for all the replies. My car is completely stock right now. I know the gas figures from the dealer are 21 city 27 highway. I just thought something might be out of tune with my car. Oh well, time to buy a Civic. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif

about every 8 days here... round trip to work and back is just about 50 miles for me. soon to be alot less. but the first 3 tanks I've actually measured come out to be around 25.5/ gallon, all highway driving. Not bad for a 6, I'm happy. Better than my 15/gallon with my bug.

With my V6 I had 22.7 mpg on average with 50/50 city/highway driving.

I usually fill up when there is 1/4 of a tank left and I have at least 225 miles on the tank of gas at that point

On the one long trip I've taken, it was all highway, and I got about 28-29/gallon. Not too shabby. Around the city and normal driving, its just about 20. I have a V6, btw.

Yeah looks like Galants get poor mileage. EPA estimates are just that estimates 'cause my car doesn't come close to that & it's stock except for the Magna flow muffler, but even b4 I changed the muffler I noticed for a 4 banger this thing sucks gas worst than my V6 RS Camaro.
