Don't Wanna Blow!!!! Air Bags

Heres my question i bought the chrome guage benzel from vlovan and installed it no problem, did it in like 5 minutes, but today my friend said to be carefull when messing with the dashboard because i could set off the air bags. He likes to BS alot and make up stuff for what he doesn't know so i wanted a second opinion from people.
Heres my other question i want to get the silver by day blue by night reverse indiglo guages but i think the bright orange needles will kill it since i have blue neon inside. any thing i can so to change the color of the guage needles.

There really isn't anything you can do about changing the color of your needles. As far as I know there have been a few members that have tried sanding the color off have ended up ruining it because when they tried to paint it something about the plastic that it is made out of that it just wouldn't stay on. Besides you really don't want to take the needle off anyway because you might ruin the calibration. What you can do is take out the bulbs in the gauge cluster so that one you don't get any bleeding from behind the gauges and two the needle won't light up at night. Or just turn your dimmer all the way down.

Now as far as the air bags are concerned tell you friend to STFU. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif You can't set off the air bags.

Well to clear your needles just use nailpolish remover.. dont sand them!

Then change your cluster bulbs to blue..

Well, there is a chance you could set off the air bags. Mainly if you cut into the wires that the air bag sensors or modules are connected to. Otherwise, just taking apart the dash is not going to set it off.

i jsut took my cluster... didnt take the needles out and colored them red... at night they light up pretty sweet red... i used the paint like for a car the touch up from Autozone... i bought some red one and painted it... here is a pic.. one thing u have to be careful is as for rev and mph needle... id say grab tape and put it waway from the lil black stopper whhich holds the needle when off or u will get it stuck!! happend to me https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif but overall it cam out sweet

thanks guys for the info. i think ill leave it how it is for know or and ill try the nail polish and blue bulb after i recieve my silver indiglo guages.
