OEM headlights

just wanted to know if anyone else knew this. it would seem that the oem headlights for the 8g are made by different companies. the headlights that came with my car, have the word stanley stamped in the corner of them. however, a set of headlights that i bought from cali say TYC. when i asked him where he got them, he said that they came with his car. if this holds true, then it tells me that at least two different companies are making the oem headlights for at least the 8G car

in the pictures, the TYC light is the drivers side, and the stanley is the passenger

well most of you remember when i had the front fender and headlight smashed on the passenger side of my car. well, when i went to get it fixed, i gave them the TYC light to put back in, and when they formed the fender around the light, it actually slopes outward more than it would have if i had given him the stanley light. so now for me, i have to make sure that if that passenger headlight get damaged again, i replace it with a TYC light. only problem is i dont know where TYC is located or have a phone number (can someone help me out on this)

when you order so-called factory headlights off internet, you are likely to get tyc brand. that tyc headlight you have is not factory. whoever you bought it from must have replace it with factory wannabe aftermarket one.

hey anthony, i found a place that sells TYC headlights. http://www.1001headlights.com ('http://www.1001headlights.com') many shops will use aftermarket knockoffs when repairing your car to save you some money. i know with my car i noticed that the body shop that was doing the repair uses alot of aftermarket OEM lookalikes to fix the cars. i requested that they use real mitsubishi stuff. you can too, especially on more important structural pieces since the aftermarket might not be as good as the one from mitsubishi.

o yea, depo is another company that i seen make aftermarket oem style headlights for the 8g.

thanks allan. someone else told me about that site too, just hadnt had time to check it out. its no big deal now, i just need to be able to replace it with a TYC from here on out. and like i said, it was something i didnt know, and wanted to see if anyone else ever noticed
