Was lookin round for an intake on ebay and found this. I'm not above goin for a used part but i don't know if this will fit an 02? I looked around a lil bit but i'm at work so i can't do any indepth searches...

also from this thread:

i remember my friend telling me how he reset his ECU after putting on a new high flow intake. you unplug your battery before you go to bed at night...pump the gas pedal for 1 minute, and leave the battery unplugged...wake up in the morning, hook your battery back up, and it will have been reset

that work? and would that help increase the mpg?

nope won't fit. there's no MAS adaptor.

as for resetting the ecu, uh, seriously i think overnight is overkill. i see what your friend is tryna do but you can achieve the same thing my disconnecting the battery, counting to 10 and hooking up the battery.

what does that process do? well it clears some of the memory on the ECU. so yea your car forgot lots of stuff it remembered and its forced to relearn everything it knew before. does it help your mpg, probablty not. but what it does do is help eliminate a problem of having an ses light when you install your intake but then i never had a problem with an SES and installing an intake. just the one time i forgot to plug in the MAS, but then that was caused by my own stupidity

well...what i meant by the mpg was that the ecu would be lettin more gas go through to compensate for the increased oxygen. in that thread most people were saying they actually get worse gas mileage after installing an intake.

actually that part of the job of the MAS. the MAS detects the amount of airflow and can adjust the fuel as necessary. you just reset the ecu because sometimes the car thinks taht there is something wrong with the increased airflow caused by the aftermarket intake.

as for the gas mileage. the drop in fuel economy isn't that much with an aftermarket intake. if i let my mom drive my car there isnt' that much of a drop in fuel economy with the intake since she isn't lead footed like myself. but if i were to drive it, since i do have that lead foot, my fuel economy drop down low.

You need the metal/plastic MAS Adapter that converts the 4 screw rectangular connector on the MAS to the 2.5" to 3" round cone air filter.
