Alright so i've had 3 people that are very into cars and modding look at my car (just to prove i'm not retarded). They all agree there is no clearcoat under where my emblems were.

now this makes no sense at first. but just now we looked underneath the trunk and it's starting to look like the trunk was replaced for some reason.

on the right side up in the corner there is a weld mark. i personally can't figure out why they would need to weld a small hole there...but sure nuff it's right behind where the ES emblem would be. when i get home i'll take pics of the weld mark and a super up clost picture of the problem area for all you naysayers

so as it is right now it looks like my only options is to get the trunk touched up. i got some other scratches on the trunk but the wing i'm buyin was gonna cover it.

so...does anybody have any advice for me now? way to fix it myself? heres links to the pics again.

i really don't wanna have to have a shop paint the whole trunk as i think that'd be pricey as hell...

dude you've posted this before. Seriously. Try some wax. Try some effort. I had the same situation and some guy at the meet with in 10 seconds got that nasty mix off with some Armor All Wax and a nice rag.

i suppose i could've mentioned that.

i went at the shit for 10 mins last night like a madman trying with both goo off and zymoil.

do it durnig the daytime. the sun is out the weather is warm and it will make the goo warmer and easier to remove.

Wax then use a buffer...

If its that bad.. pay a body shop to touch up paint it..

and outta curiosity...does everybody have a sticker on their trunk that says genuine mitsubishi product (kinda blurry...) ('http://akiraflux.freeyellow.com/car/guarantee.jpg')

so why the hell is there a weld mark there?

so uh...anybody got any opinion on wtf happened to my trunk?

i guess i'm gonna have a friends brother just redo the clearcoat over the whole trunk. it'll be a bitch but at least it won't be shop prices...
