alright im a lil dissapointed right now....just came back from my local performance shop and hes like alright i can do this for you but before i do it i just want to let you know even if you buy a new cat you'll be lucky to get 2 or 3hp from it. hes like unless you go forward and get forced induction this is only going to make your car sound a hell of a lot better.

so my question to you guys is do you guys feel a difference going with larger pipping and a new cat. and those who say yes did you get it dynoed...cause the mind can be tricky once money is spent.

let me know cause i dont wanna throw away money to make my car reach a few more dbs...its only 200 but still

If you absolutely, positively have to eek out every little bit of power...go ahead and upgrade. Our exhausts actually flow decently, with the only real holdup being the muffler. He's right though...you'll be lucky to see 2-3 hp.

k well ive had a aftermarket muff for like a year and a half now and that def gave me power...so i freed that up....so as i said in the other post i can do headers back with out buying aftermarket headers with 2.5 piping and a new cat it should give me something.....

and if not would you think it would be a smart move to do anyway for the better sound and the possible pre set up for other modifications to my engine...cause im running out of ideas...forced induction is just too expensive..how do the aem pullys work...i got the cam gear didn't upgrade to after market cams though so have any advice...?

im looking for more performance is all

but he quoted me like around 200 for a cat back with a new cat it'll prob be like around 250 for headers back...you honestly think its worth it...you seem to know what your talking about and you got a galant so ill kinda take your word over his in a few ways.....

thanks again

Headers for our cars are from 400- 550 only RPW and Kamikazie make them, what year is your car you may already have a hi-flow cat the cali spec have hi-flow cats already. Just keep your piping the way it is unless you are going to get it mandrel bent, but 2 1/2 is big woth out the forced induction.

when i first started moding my car i would say 400 aint shit...but it is now haha...but 2.25 pipping is what we have stock to my understanding so getting 2.5 makes sense...and i got the 2001 galant.

im thinking headers back now so i can take care of the pre cat...i dunno im lost...im going to talk to the guy today and see what he says

Scott, save yourself the money on headers 400 bucks for 1 whp (dyno proven) really isnt worth it. I personally did upgrade to 2.5 cat back and gutted my precat (cali spec) muffler, 2.5' piping gutted precat cai probrably gave a total of 4 whp. Like you mentioned or someone only upgrade piping if u plan on going forced induction.

i say go ahead and do it, every 1 or 2whp helps somewhere down the line.. I went 2.25" from the header back, and it helps with better flow..
