Well...just a few min ago i put in some blue bulbs behind my gauges and boy does it suck. not bright at all. so i'm gonna go buy some LED's. anybody done it with leds? im just afraid they might be too bright.

its really hard to achieve a bright colored finish just by changing the cluster bulbs. the brightest way im thinking is to get hyperwhite bulbs and put on a blue gel gap or paint it blue. LED's are bright but its color only goes in one direction so you'll have the light concentrated in one area.

if you want to use LED's have the led's shine at the front of the gauges to light everything up.

ah...good advice. didn't think of the 1way lighting.

i just really do NOT like el/indiglo gauges and i saw a pic of blue gauges and decided i had to have em.

now if only i could find a shop around here that has the blue gel caps...

I have some exp. with this. I have blue 5 watt bulbs in my dash and have burnt out about every bulb holding fixture. Dealer recommends only 4 watt or volt I forget. So .. any 5 volt aftermarket blubs might melt your stuff early. LED's only shine one way whereas a bulb emits light in all directions. Let me know how the led's turn out if you get them. I'd be interested b/c they use less energy and are bright. be cool if they work and I'll get some.

Nice to know that someone says they appear like a regular bulb. Seems everything is wrong, anyway let us know how they turn out. Btw you'll need 5 bulbs for a full replacement. Pretty sure it's 5, maybe 4

it's 5. i already took out the whites and tried blue "hyper lights". they sucked ass. at least it's easy to get to the bulbs behind the gauges. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

walmart, pepboys, autozone, kmart and most places like them should have the caps.
