If i wanted to drop my car what size tires do you recommend?? 215/40's or 215/45's or 225/45 or 40's?? I need to know cause i'm about to buy new tires. And i have 17 inch rims.

go with the 215 45 17 i had 225 40 17s and they rubbed even b4 i droped my car but the 215s never have and now my car is lowered by eibachs

I also have 17" rims along with 215/45 tires. My vehicle also is dropped with Eibach Pro's. I say go with 215/45's.

i have 215/40. i had 215/45s and i couldn't stand them, the damn sidewall was so big and it rubbed a bit. go with 215/40s and you'll get some nice performance out of em.

from autocross experience and seeing it on jdm and eurodm exotics also on the track, these are very good tyres:

1. advan neovas
2. yokohama avs es100
3. dunlop sp 9000
4. falken azenis

i am now using yokohama avs es100. very quiet and very grippy.
i used to have dunlop le mans 701 in 215 50 17s. slippery tyres.

imo, the best size for 17s are 225/45. get light weight 17s if you can.

on the 8g, 215/45r17 or 225/45r17. if you go 40 series on a 17 your speedo will read faster than you are going. if you got 18's then 225/40zr18. i once did all the mathematical equations in a post when i was bored and it was like 2 pages long but trust that on 17's, on an 8g, you want 215/45r17 or 225/45r17.

those are too short for an 8g on 17's...

given that the stock size is:

195/65r15 (i4) or 205/55r16 (v6)

w/ 225/40r17, your speedo would either be 3.6% or 3.2% faster (depending on your original stock size) than your actual speed.

when plus sizing, you want to keep the overall rolling circumference within 1% of stock to maintain shift points, spedometer acuracy etc.

215/45r17 is 1.0% fast and 225/45r17 is 0.4% slow when compared to stock 205/55r16. both are within acceptable variance from stock to retain all proper instrumentation and function.

on a side note, 245/40r17 would only 0.6% fast but 245's will rub.
